Yesterday (9/17/2023) I went in with my 10yr old daughter. She picked out a shirt so I suggested shoes. The associate was talking to her friends from the looks of it so I had to get her attention after a few mins. We chose some shoes and placed them on register counter. Kayla the associate asked did we want the shirt. I informed her my daughter changed her mind and she look doubtful. She stopped mid transaction and I said What? You dont believe me? She looked to see if shirt was placed back. I then asked my daughter were was the shirt and she pointed to it. After seeing the shirt Kayla continued to ring up the shoes. It was very uncomfortable as a customer to be doubted by an associate. I wanted to say forget the shoes because I didnt like Kaylas energy but my daughter wanted them. My daughter then said She thought I stole the shirt? To hear her say that bothered me even more. I love Vans and some know my face by how often I shop there. If Kayla wanted to prevent theft maybe she should be removed from the register and placed in the back to watch the cameras. And if that purchase she handed me my receipt and didnt say a word. Didnt say thank you for shopping with us or anything. Im calling the store as soon as they open to speak with a manager.
