Mc Kafka Development Group

Absolutely the worst experience ever. I have leased condo's, Apartments in several major cities and never have been subjected to this kind of abuse. Mckafka Development Group with Vanesa Perez as their agent did nothing to the unit at Las Olas by the River.#1205. My son had worked with Vanesa as I was to arrive several weeks after. Vanesa had told my son the apartments would be freshly painted,cleaned etc. before I arrived. When I first was able to see it the stove had never been cleaned the rings were caked on with food. The previous tenant had painted the walls different shades of Beige and there was paint all over ceiling wall coverings and boards, the sinks were chipped and it went on nothing had been done it had been left exactly as the previous tenant left it, I called Vanesa to complain and she said the unit was as is and did nothing. When I moved out I had painted the previous mess, cleaned stove, cleaned carpet etc. Leaving the place in far better condition than when I took it. After all this Mckafka Development group & Vanesa Perez kept my $1750 security deposit plus are trying to bill me additional $630. stating for repairs and painting Friends of mine were in who had seen my unit right before I moved out said they were shown it and nothing had been done it was exactly the same as the day I moved out! After this there was a pending sale again on unit again with nothing what so ever done to it. I had taken possesion of this unit as the last tenant left and it was being sold/ released exactly the same way to the next tenant while my security deposit was not returned. There should be laws against this predatory behaviour. Do yourself a favor and don' t put yourself through what I have had to endure. I HAD TO GIVE THEM 1 STAR AS IT WOULD NOT LET ME POST OTHERWISE

This is the worse real state company in South Florida. They don't care about their customers at all. Four months after my lease contract expired I have not receive my deposit, and no one gives me a concrete answer. Don't do business with this company.

STAY AWAY!!! The WORST management company and property manager I have ever dealt with. I'm only giving one star because I have to in order to leave a review. Detailed experience and warning below: I resided in a condo at Las Olas by the River, which was managed by McKafka - specifically Vanesa Perez. She was my main point of contact. We were initially interested in renting another unit at the same complex, but due to her slow response, she gave the apartment to someone else even after we put our offer in. I should have taken this as a hint for what was to come. Before I moved in, requested a few things to be done in order for it to be move-in ready. Nothing crazy, just a new coat of paint (walls were incredibly dirty), fixed blinds (string was broken, so we couldn't open or close them), bathroom sink plug replaced (it was broken and wasn't functioning at all). Did any of these things get done? NO. I followed up with her for at least four months and it wasn't until the renewal period came up that I refused to renew until these things were fixed. Even so, the only thing that got repaired was the blinds, which ended up being installed backwards). Throughout my lease, I had multiple things go wrong including a broken microwave (the glass slid out and nearly slashed my arm), broken clothes dryer, broken kitchen sink faucet. I had to be the most annoying version of myself in order to get Vanesa's attention at all. She wouldn't respond to my calls or texts timely, so I had to call the Mckafka office and ask to speak to her. Usually, she was just at her desk, screening my calls. We went went nearly a month with dirty laundry until she finally caved. Next comes the move out. I have text conversations with her stating that I would not be charged for painting the apartment as it was never done to begin with, but guess what's being deducted from my security deposit? PAINTING FEES. Nearly $1,000 is being deducted from my security deposit. I have lived in 4 apartment complexes over the last 11 years, and I can honestly say that she is the least responsive property manager I have ever encountered. Moral of the story: STAY AWAY FROM THIS MANAGEMENT GROUP.
