THE hidden gem of Lakelanda thoughtfully curated menu offered in a charming atmosphere of native greenery throughout its various coves of outdoor seating, it is the perfect date night, whether dressed up or dressed down. Personable servers welcome guests like old friends and accommodate menu requests in ways not possible in chain restaurants. Walk up the sidewalk and you sense immediatelythis place cares. Adding to the ambiance was a local musician playing saxophone and trombone. Live music happens every Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Patio seating is abundant, yet uncrowded, and inside seating is quaint with a beautiful bar along the main wall. Our order: A bottle of Pinot Noir Olives for an appetizer Ribeye prepared with balsamic glaze Salad with chicken, tomatoes, etc and gorgonzola, which they willing accommodated a small size instead of the standard I was totally enamored with this place, so much so that I didnt take sufficient pictures to back up my review. Addtl details: Our server Haley (sp.) was beyond delightful, and after we expressed our immediate impression of the place, she told us of its local roots and its transition just last April to the son of the founder after his passing. My husband, a 5th generation Lakelander, asked of their family name, to which Haley replied that the sons wife, Diana, was on-site and would gladly come talk with us. Minutes later, Diana took a seat at our patio table, telling us about the passion her father-in-law operated the restaurant with for more than a decade (17 or 12 years, I missed that detail). It is said that he himself planted every tree and shrub within and around the patio seating, which explains why it feels like home. Thank you for reading, and please visit The Patio for yourself! Vegetarian options: Simple but sufficient offerings like marinated olives and salads; check the menu and Facebook for vegetarian entrees. Dietary restrictions: Options include gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and possibly vegan. Kid-friendliness: The patio area is totally kid friendly! As for the menu, inquire beforehand. Wheelchair accessibility: Patio offers a variety of seating areas easily accessible for wheelchairs with tables large enough to easily accommodate those in wheelchairs as well as their guests. Indoor area is accessible by a ramp; seating area consists of tables, no booths, that can be moved as needed.
