Southeast Lakeland, FL. Located in the suburbs, this is a neighborhood favorite. Locals were stopping in for dinner to go during the early afternoon when I popped in. I got the special: a Cuban sandwich, black beans and rice for a great price. Everything was hot and fresh. The black beans tasted like my Cuban friends black beans (she and her abuelo would top theirs with extra olive oil and a subtle splash of vinaigre). Up on the walls they have signed pictures of a pilot flying snazzy planes-this is sort of near Linden Field where the nationally known Sun and Fun event happens. Photos of him and other airplanes plus about three tvs made for a fun ambiance.

Stopped at one of my favorite local sandwich shops for my mom's birthday. The staff/owner (Ali) who know me and my family by name are always so welcoming and inviting! My and I both had the pressed Cuban and it was loaded with meat and absolutely delicious. I had the 6" in. with a cup of the ham and bean Spanish soup. The homemade broth is always heavenly! Now that Pipkin Rd is opening back up I can frequent the shop again! You better have an appetite as the portions are large!!!!

This place is fantastic! The food is great. The customer service is amazing! Do yourself a favor and stop and get a cuban with black beans and rice. You won't be disappointed
