We recently engaged the team at Smarter Remodeling to complete a renovation of a garage apartment in preparation for my mother moving in. We had a tight timeline and were very pleased that the project was completed quickly and to our satisfaction. All of the tradesmen we encountered were talented, friendly and professional. Bill and Miguel did an excellent job leading all aspects of the project. Agata did a lovely job assisting my mother to make design decisions. Thank you Smarter Remodeling.

We tried working with a different company first to build a small in-law suite. The first company was very slow, so we tried Smarter Remodeling. They were very responsive and professionally met all our expectations through the end. They kept the whole process running smoothly and we are very happy with the final build. Smarter Remodelling changed our entire life for the better with our recent remodeling project. They are a family run business and they make it a point to make you feel like family. Fabian will be the first to tell you that things might go wrong especially on large projects, where there are dozens of subcontractors but they will always work through it. Every single subcontractor that came to our home was polite and hard-working. All along in my project, everybody stayed professional, and easy to work with. The end result is better than we had hoped for, and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Smarter Remodelling!

Smarter Remodeling did a wonderful job with our Master Bathroom. Fabian, Agata and Keith were professional and prompt in their communications and made us aware of every aspect of the project. I do not recommend this company. I may have given Smarter Remodeling 5 stars had they completed my project. The cost was more expensive, as admitted by their salesperson, compared to other companies. I was willing to pay more if it meant less headache and higher quality. I am a Former Marine and retired Naval Officer who takes care of his elderly parents. One reason for building my addition was to have a 2nd indoor access to the pool bath. The goal was to have both entrances available from inside the house to the hall bath. The new inside entrance has wheelchair access as well for future surgeries or rehabs. The contract I paid for included two arches and a wall in the new enclosed area. One arch over the entrance where the sliding door used to be, and the other entrance was adjacent to where they were hired to build an entrance wall with a matching arch overhead going into the breakfast nook area. When time to build the two arches and the entrance wall. The framer said to me (with Bill the Project manager there), I just want to let you know that its going to be expensive to build the arches. I told the framer I already paid for it. It's in the contract. They had people come look to price it out. Bill then said to me Well you know this room looks better with no wall here and I can build you a nice trim on the old entrance. He said would probably be around $3-4k to do as even trade for credit. I finally said ok if would build to look like picture i sent him. A few weeks later, Bill told me he could not find a company to build trim due to covid, China, and shipping issues. Bill offered to build a lesser cheap basic looking trim design himself. He was going to build a cheap trim with no mantle over the entrance. I told Bill that I did not like the cheap option he was trying to use. I said, I dont want what you are trying to build, so give me my refund. Bill told me he could only give me $1,500 for what it would cost him to build the 2 arches and entrance wall. Much less than the amount they charged me! Mind you, Bill seemed to forget that their own wall framer said it was going to be very expensive from the previous conversation. I had another contractor come to give me a quote and it was for $4,200 to build the wall and two arches. At this point, I told Bill, the project Manager, I would only talk to the owners Fabian and Agata about my refund. I wrote Agata and she seemed understanding and said would forward it to Fabian. Yet, no response from either of them. A few months went by, and I wrote to Fabian, and he seemed nice as well but never got back to me. It has been 6 months. I submitted a complaint to BBB but the BBB said The company never responded. I did not want to go to DBPR because they seem like a nice couple. I am surprised they would treat an American veteran like this. Veterans contribute to their ability as a company to enjoy the freedom and prosperity in this country. Shame on them.
