I've lived here for 2.5 years in a basement studio and overall a positive experience. Except for the occasional bowling marathon of my upstairs neighbors, it was very quiet and peaceful living here. Most of the maintenance issues I've experienced are addressed quickly and effectively by Cornerstone. The area does come with its safety concerns but that is most of Denver now. Don't let them catch you slipping! Ultimately, I think the rent is a bit high for a tiny studio with no natural light which is why I'm moving on.

One of the worst 7 months of nightmare ever. I leased a studio here for 6 months, it was to be 7 but after this last month I am done. This place has been a living nightmare. Rent at your own risk, and I will tell you why. 1: Safety There is none. In the 6 months I was here, I never felt safe. In the last 3 weeks I had my 2020 Harley Sportster stolen from the parking lot, by three men and a truck at 3:50am. A resident who was in the process of moving out and outside as it happened called 911. No show. This last weekend (8/27/23) At app 2pm, broad daylight on a Sunday someone decided to smash out the rear window of my car. There are no cameras on the parking lot, no security, no nothing. The $hitters of Denver know this and have made this lot a target. A month and a half ago another resident had his motorcycle stolen as well. There has also been catalytic converter thefts in this lot as well. There are several bums who camp out around the lot and nothing is done to remove them. The doors regularly do not shut correctly so anyone can enter the building. There is a constant rotation of bums in the alley and the parking lot as well. The 2 homes on Center next to the building are filled with drug dealers and section 8. They have yelled at myself and other renters of this building as well. There is a constant flow of traffic in and out of both of these houses and one is also home to a violent dog who has broken out the windows of said house trying to attack people who have walked by. Nothing is ever done about any of this. Nothing most likely will be done either. 2: Extremely outdated building. I get it, the buildings are old. But when you are charging as much as you are things should work. They don't. In the last 6 months my power in half my unit has gone out almost every day at least once, and sometimes multiple times. The room with the breakers is locked off to "normal" residents so you can not go reset said breaker when it pops. There is someone in the building who has access to the room, but they only do it when they feel like it. At times, the power will be out for hours. This has been a huge inconvenience as most of the units here do not have ac, and residents rely upon fans to attempt to cool the unit down. When the power goes, so does the fans, and you are now living in a oven. Even in the winter, with the heat turned off, the unit never went below 75 degrees. Imagine how hot it got when it was 90 degrees outside and above. This last 3 months I was lucky if I could get three hours of sleep a night due to the heat in the apartment. The majority of the units also leak. The roof is in serious need of repair and the owner of the building will not do it. They just put some sealant on and hope for the best. I was in for one month and came home one evening to water from my window, to my kitchen area. This is on the garden floor level mind you, the upper units are much worse and filled with black mold as well. The sewage lines are not cleaned regularly. I had a concern when I did my pre-move in inspection and found what looked to be dried up sewage in my bathroom tub. Little did I know in a few short months, the drain would completely stop working, and sewage from other units would backflow into the tub. I went 48 hours not being able to take a shower because my tub was filled with backflow of waste water and sewage from other units. When they finally got someone in to snake it, what was brought up was disgusting. I don't have long hair, or much hair to begin with. And there was tons of hair pulled up. You don't even want me to describe the smell. The vent in the kitchen was never cleaned from when I moved in, and is clogged with dust and grease. As so, the ventilation in this 375 sq foot hell hole doesn't exist. As another reviewer said, the oven puts off heat even when not in use. The stove top is hot to the touch. It doesn't look like it was ever properly cleaned on the underside either. One night, the pilot lights went out, and I wook up to the smell of gas.

Leasing company doesn't answer phone. Temps inside regularly over 100. Rent increases hundreds of dollars per year. Unsafe gas stoves regularly cause injuries/burns when not even turned on, a serious legal, fire, & safety issue, to the point where WATER BOILS on stove when stove isn't even on, & stovetop burns hands/arms at a slight touch. Again, when turned OFF & not turned on for days. And half the stove (2 burners) don't even turn on, because the pilot lights are out. Super safe (not). Cornerstone knows about all of this, doesn't care, & won't fix. Lock for outside door constantly breaking, & doors of units literally don't have doors that lock. I'm not kidding. Not all tenants can even lock their apt doors. Parking lot unenforced, causing tenants who pay for parking having to park on streets & get parking tickets.

Aaron, We're so sorry about your negative experience at Lincoln Center. We completely understand the anger and frustration you must be feeling after having your motorcycle stolen and your car broken into. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do about crime in downtown Denver. However, we will always work with our residents and local authorities if we have any information or evidence that can be of use. If you know of someone who can reset the breakers, please get in touch with us as soon as possible, as no one besides Cornerstone employees should have access to these. We're sorry to hear the temperature in your apartment has made you uncomfortable. In a building without AC, we suggest investing in an AC unit. The roof is in need of repair and is scheduled for one in September. We do apologize for your tub backing up. We don't snake drains between leases, but you can always request a drain snaking through a work order. We did look through our records and saw that we completed your bathtub work order a day after you submitted it. Finally, as for your oven, it will put off heat when it's not on because it's a gas stove and the pilot light is always on. You will smell gas when it goes out but not to a level that is harmful to you. We hope our resolutions to your concerns help you feel more comfortable in your apartment. We are truly sorry for your negative experience. We care about you and the building you live in. We would like to turn your experience around if we can. Please reach out to us directly if there is anything else we can do for you. Thank you, Cornerstone Apartment Services

Hay,We're sorry to hear you've had a negative experience at one of the properties we manage. We completely understand how a malfunctioning oven can be an incredible inconvenience, and we don't take your frustration lightly. We do our best to answer all maintenance requests as quickly as possible, but sometimes, these appliances require service from their manufacturer, and those situations can take much longer. We always provide communication when something like this happens. If you are experiencing a malfunctioning door at your building, or if there is anything else we can do for you to turn your experience around, please contact us directly at +1 720-780-7362. Thank you, Cornerstone Apartment Services
