Someone who I know that helps ppl get into housing , wanted me to do a application for golden spike apartments. After reading the reviews I'll not move there and it's too far from my storage . I don't want my disabled son there and he wouldn't like it or APS for adults with disabilities and seniors. We're not going to move at the golden spike apartments.

I would give no stars if I could. First of all this place is under the Archdiocese of Denver. They change management every other year or so and each new manager is more inept than the one before. Drug dealers run rampant here. Particularly on the 5th floor. Immigrants are allowed to come and go freely, there is no patrol or staff to watch the doors. There is a keypad, but people just wait for a tenant and quickly slide in behind them. So if you have elderly or disabled relatives they are in danger. They have had 2 methodone scares where the stuff is in the walls. They have a roach and bedbug problem that is out of this world. The city of Denver says that is unacceptable and uninhabitable living conditions, but the management just lies and their license is never revoked. I know one tenant that has had to stay in an apartment for the last 3 months with standing water, baseboards ripped off and holes drilled in the walls for the water to escape. This let in more pestilence than before. Try contacting the managment, they have tons of phone numbers, but no one answers, one the off occasion that they do, which seems to be every blue moon, they literally don't care. This place has even lied on their tenants. In this particular case its got so bad that they finally admitted the apt was uninhabitable, and offered another apt. where the person would have to move from a 1 bdrm to a studio. Tried to contact a person about seeing the place first and again, no response. Not to mention that a person was evicted due to roaches and vermin literally crawling out the door! They expect people to move in there??? That's like jumping from the pan into the fire! So why don't these people just move somewhere else? Many are disabled and/or elderly. They have no place to go. Especially with the immigration crisis. There many homeless americans being pushed out of their homes to make room for others and having to live in deplorable conditions because of it. HUD, Archdiocese of Denver, Denver City and County, they should all be ashamed of this treatment of their most needy citizens and Golden Spike should be closed down, period! Get your family members out of there!

No, now I don't know where my first post went from about. Maybe a year ago when I was saying how bad this place treated my mother. And now she's dead thanks to the guy. That lived next door to her in 513 who drank her to death. Who also drink a another woman to death there.
