After living here for 18 months, completing my lease and leaving the apartment clean, I get a bill for over $3,000 so I normally dont write reviews for good or bad but is $3000 I survive 18 months Iat an apartment with a view of the alley, I had to wake up at 4 am to the noise of trash pickup trucks, delivery trucks, and more. Living in the city means constant ambulance sirens, people screaming, and other daily disturbances, but this was the worst. The apartment was dark and dusty the air filter didn't fit properly, causing vents to spread dust everywhere, making it unfriendly for those with allergies. I had a stuffy or bleeding nose constantly, and faced maintenance issues such as no water or only freezing cold water, or a week without heating due to scheduled maintenance. Throughout my 18 months there, all four elevators never worked simultaneously. I had never been stuck in an elevator before, but at Bank and Boston, it became a regular occurrence. The time the elevators dropped suddenly was truly terrifying. The laundry facilities had numerous issues, from being smelly and non-functional to mixing up tenants' clothes it can be described in one word: "disgusting." On my level, the trash shuttle had an old mattress sitting there for months, likely still untouched. The location, being downtown Denver, meant walking out to see human feces outside the door due to lack of security. People sleeping and using drugs right outside, and the recommended parking lot (not part of the building) led to my car being broken into twice. Homeless individuals sleeping in the elevator meant taking the stairs, which could be risky due to encountering unpredictable individuals. Street closures made parking and accessing the apartment a hassle. Overall, it's not the worst place to live, but my recommendation is to spend a few more hours looking around. You can find a much better place with amenities like parking, security, a pool, common areas, and most importantly, a washer and dryer all for the same price.

I'm moving to Denver and this place looked great, downtown location with reasonable rent. When an apartment became available within the time frame I will be moving, I applied online. When I got to the end of the app, I had to pay $1000. $200 was a non refundable fee and the $800 was listed as a "holding fee". I've sent several emails requesting clarification on whether this contributes to move-in costs or is refundable if I choose to not go ahead, no response. I've called several times over numerous days and no one answers the phone in the leasing office. I regularly get texts from external parties about tours but they deny any knowledge of details. Needless to say, I will not be pursuing anything further with this organization.

Moved in during April. The layout I originally applied for didn't match the 3D Tour attached to the layout. I was not allowed to do a physical tour before putting down a deposit. It was not clarified that the 3D tour video was the layout I was getting and not map layout attached, I should've asked since the map layout didn't match the 3D tour. (This happened with an employee covering the regular Property Manager time off, so not Tenaka's fault). The laundry room is always a mess--Dryers and Washers never function and if they do it is inconsistent, residents leave clothes in the machines. (This issue is being resolved) Joe from maintenance has been extremely helpful and friendly. There is constant weight dropping in the Gym which vibrates my walls/floors...I can feel the vibrations and hear the noises in rooms furthest from the gym area. Tenaka has done her best to assist in this matter, but residents are dense and rude when it comes to living in a community. My AC stopped working early August--I was notified it would be some time until it was fixed due to the complexity of the issue. The Window Units supplied don't cool more than half my unit due to them being attached to windows located in the rooms only. They barely cool the rooms and are very loud. The portable AC Units are also attached to Ally windows---so I now smell everything and hear everything at all hours. They have also worsened my allergies and asthma. My living room and kitchen have no windows, and circulation and cooling the area is impossible (it is only decent now due to the temp dropping low). The Living Room/Kitchen become overheated when I attempt to cook and stale air and smells linger for hours. I have been unable to utilize half my unit for more than month due to the heat and lack of circulation. It is currently more comfortable out in the common halls than in the apartment I pay rent on. Edited to Add: It has been more than 2 months and repairs have never had a solid date, there was a date planned but it got pushed back and I was notified in a blast email instead of in person. I couldn't use half my apartment due to the circulation and cooling issue and now it is too cold due to not being able to use my heat. I can't comfortably live in an apartment that is either too hot and now the floors are ice cold and it is constantly 67 or below--the worst temp inside was 62. Everything is inconsistent and has been handled poorly (communicating what needs to be done, not setting a repair date (more than likely AIR Communities than onsite staff), not communicating reschedules, and lack of compensation for not being able to use half my apartment )--I believe this is AIR Communities failing to follow up, not the Onsite Staff. Edit: HVAC is functioning again. Disappointed that there was no follow up concerning how impacted we were--half the apartment was unlivable which impacted living/finances in general. Edit 11/20/2023: Concerning the noise in the Gym--residents are just disrespectful in the gym, or the residents simply don't know how to weight train and can't handle what they are lifting. The Company (Air Communities is lacking) , the Onsite Staff have never been an issue, they have always been friendly and responsive. Air Communities is extremely unresponsive and they have not reached out about the HVAC situation, the property manager did reach out to me. I have emailed AIR Communities a few times, and no response.

CHARGED $1700 IN MOVE OUT FEES Pros : Great maintenance team. They come quickly and do great work. Good location for walking to places in downtown Denver. Cons: Elevators rarely work, usually at least one down. Lot of homeless and drug use on the outside of the building. Safety on the outside of the building is questionable at best. Sometimes passcode into building will not work. Laundry rooms are horrible, with 20 machines maybe 4 of them work. Leasing manager is tough to get ahold of and doesn't give all of the information up front. Be aware of the notice if you vacate the building, they expect a 60 day notice and each day into that you are charged a prorated amount. If you give no notice you will pay 2 months of rent. When moving out they will nickel and dime you on everything. If you have a scratch on an appliance expect to pay a ridiculous amount for it. I was charge $300 for a scuffed stove top. You will also be required to pay a cleaning fee of $170 even if you clean the apartment before leaving. Also was charged a $300 painting fee for the apartment and the paint was left in perfect condition when I left. Altogether, I was charged $1700 upon moving out for ridiculous fees that were not pointed out to me before signing a lease (all in the fine print of the lease) Overall: I would avoid this building. If I could do things over I would have never signed a lease here. Horrible experience upon moving out and very mediocre experience while living there, especially considering the amount of money they charge for some of the apartments.

I have lived at the Bank & Boston Lofts for over 20 years. I am not positive, but I believe I have lived here longer than any other tenant. I am no Gladys Kravitz, but I have seen, heard, and experienced it all in the Boston Building. What I have found is people either love living here, or they cannot stand it. There really seems to be no middle ground or average opinion. It all boils down to seemingly one reason EXPECTATIONS. Living in Downtown Denver is an adventure in and of itself, and people need to realize and be prepared for it. Right off the bat uncontrollable factors like noise, pollution, homelessness, a little vandalism, and heaven forbid in Colorado, drug use are going to be issues wherever one lives Downtown. The Bank and Boston Lofts will be no exception. If those factors are insurmountable for a person, they had best move to the suburbs where they can pretend the same issues dont exist and save themselves the heartache. The Bank and Boston Buildings are both historic landmarks. That being said, the management company is under a plethora of restrictions as to what and what not they can do physically to the buildings. Therefore, there is not an abundance of amenities associated with either building. However, living in the city and the proximity to every amenity under the sun just a stones throw away more than compensates for what little the buildings lack. The community is one of the few Downtown that allow pets (within reason) in the buildings. Guess what? From time to time, one might find a little mess created by one of these animals. It is not a problem or the end of the world. The cleaning staff walk the building daily looking for these accidents and take care of them accordingly. The interiors of the building are kept in impeccable condition 99% of the time. Yes, after a long weekend of Tasting Colorado, Peoples Fairing, or showing your Gay Pride things may not be perfect. That should come as no surprise to anyone. I have found that my fellow tenets have nearly always been fine and reasonable people. Lets face it, considering the amount of rent, that alone has the tendency to weed out the riff raff. That is not to say the occasional wild student or bad neighbor never moves into the building. In twenty something years, I have never had to involve property management with tenet related issues. Speaking of property management, Aimco has been nothing but straight forward, honest, and attentive to my needs. One needs to realize that the day to day issues that confront the managers at the B&B Lofts are a little more complex than those of their suburban counterpart properties. Managing these two places can be a challenge and taking that into account goes a long way in understanding management/tenet relations. The maintenance crew at these facilities are second to none. I have never waited more than 24 hours for a maintenance issue to be resolved to my satisfaction. Aimco in my opinion does a fine job at managing their business. I have found they walk the fine line of managing their business along with remembering this is the place you call home very well. As long as one abides by the limited community rules, like no smoking inside the building even inside your apartment, one is left to live their life as they see fit without any intrusion from or condemnation by Aimco. Frankly, I could not be more pleased to call the Bank and Boston Lofts home for as long as I have. The address, the building, the management, and the city itself more than make up for what some perceive as negatives. Like I said in the beginning it all boils down to EXPECTATIONS. If one cannot handle the realities of urban living, then the Bank and Boston Lofts are probably not going to be your cup of tea. I would recommend heading straight to the old folks home, which will probably be more to your liking. However, if you love urban living, one wont find a better all around package in Downtown Denver, Colorado.
