TownePlace Suites by Marriott Bakersfield West

First time stay. Studio room was very clean, cozy, relaxing and affordable. My stay was short lived cause I arrived very late at night from traveling from So Cal and I had to go back to the Bay Area in the morning so I wasn't able to fully utilize the amenities. But I do like access to the kitchen and a work desk area for longer stays. There were plenty of storage space in the drawers and closet. For business or pleasure, I'll really consider this hotel property for future stays. Hotel staff were welcoming and friendly. As for breakfast, the scramble eggs seem dried although I enjoyed the coffee, oatmeal, waffles and yogurt.

I never give bad reviews but our stay here was AWFUL. Stayed in several Townsplace locations, always enjoyed it. But this one is a joke. Tiny cramped suites in comparison to most locations, unprofessional and rude staff, no toilet paper in our room, & kind of a shady neighborhood but maybe thats just Bakersfield for ya. The lady at the front desk told us they get a lot of credit card fraud and prostitution.Then, after our stay and leaving a clean room - they tried to charge my card a $280 fine bc my husbands cut reopened during the night and bled on the sheets!?!? Lucia the manager said this was because we exposed her staff to biohazardous material - when I asked to speak to her superior she refused to give me her last name, shouted at me and hung up. Needs better management, the bare minimum basics are being overlooked at this site.
