I had to sit down and write a review because this is the most displeased I've been in a while. My fiance and I chose to seek outside counseling for our relationship seeing as we have a child on the way. We've left Gale's office over 4.5 hours ago and haven't spoken a word to each other since. I can't speak for him, but I am definitely emotionally and physically depleted after visiting this office. 😳❗ The entirety of this visit was basically Gale asking us to talk to each other, like we do every single day...tell each other our problems, like we do every single day...ask what we can do to fix them, like we try to do EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!!! Our problem is not communication. Our problem is getting on the same page to understand each others perspectives. There was no assistance in sight! It felt as if Gale was enabling the mentally and verbally abusive relationship. She asked us not to involve anyone but ourselves in this already isolated relationship. She offered NO advice or alternatives to our normally scheduled routine. There was no "tisk tisk" or "well maybe you should go about it this way." There was only an hour and a half of the same conversation we've had for the past 6 months and our pockets a few hundred dollars lighter by the time we left. Her conclusion to our session was letting us know that next time she'd have us try the same thing sitting closer to each other. What!? We do this at home. We talk face to face. We write letters to each other. We cry it out. We needed a level medium to help get us on the same page and I felt ripped off by the time we left. I could've paid a random stranger (without a degree) $225 to offer more insight than this. How is a trained, licensed professional allowing couples to leave her office after knowing there may be worse issues in the future. How is anyone who is being paid to "care for others" mentality comfortable with sending home a pregnant woman and her overly controlling spouse? I'm literally withdrawn from life now. What a waste of money that could've gone to my future daughter. 😡 & he is still in control 😭
