Big shout-out to Ms. Veronica at the John C. Lincoln Honor Health Outpatient Surgery Center check-in desk!! She went way above and way beyond her job description to make sure that my senior father was extremely comfortable during his hours long wait while I was in surgery. Her superb patient care is the reason why people continue to choose this surgical center for their health needs. Thank you very much Veronica!!!

I had a rotator cuff repair procedure done here and didnt have such a pleasant experience. I have gone through this procedure before on my other shoulder so I knew more or less what to expect. First off lets start with registration. You walk in and no one is up front to greet you but there is a sign in sheet so I did that. Veronica was very helpful and knew her job well. Very polite and professional. But that is where the good part ends. The surgeon was running late so my procedure didnt start until 1.5 hours late. The PCT asked me to undress and change. Then nurse 1 came in to ask questions. They tried to start an IV on me but the arm that they had to use had bad/small veins. Long story short, 3 nurses later and two blown out veins thru could not get an IV started. They had to ask the anesthesiologist to start the IV. He got the IV in but not correctly. A nurse had to come back and flush it out. It began to get painful. I let them know and they blew me off. The anesthesiologist came back in with a syringe. Mind you the whole time I had to ask them what everything was they were giving me. Not once did anyone communicate with me what they were giving me. He gave me half of the syringe and the pain got worse because whatever he gave me leaked out of the vein and into my skin. By this point I was in so much pain, upset and just wanted to go home. He started a new IV ( this is the 6th time at this point). Then proceeded to argue with the nurse in front of me while starting my nerve block. I asked him if he was going to remove the other IV line because it was hurting and he told me no, not right now. My post op recovery was not any better. The nurse didnt really give me good after care instructions and was pretty much rushing me out the door. Mind you she wasnt rude but it was just odd that she basically read the instructions off of a paper. In past experience all of my nurses have been pretty knowledgeable about post op instructions. All in all it was a not so great experience and I would not go back to this hospital for treatment. Also the nurses seemed to be all over the place snd no real discipline as yo who should be doing what.

I just recently had surgery on 21st at this location. My doctor Tom and pre-op nurse was amazing. Im so happy the two nurses was able to assist me. When I woke up recovery room, i was in so much pain. The post-op nurse gave me Percocet, she stated I should feel better in 20 mins. The Post-op nurse explained she gave me medicine, give it time to work. I told her, I was still in pain. So I was crying she went behind curtains told another nurse we need to get her out her, she is talking about she is still in pain. The post-op nurse was talking The anesthesiologist outside the room. He told her I have anxiety base off my medication. I asked ,whats name of medicine? I told them both while just waking up from anesthesia no I dont. That medicine is for my stomach, then Dr. Stated (Im trying get your prescription for pain). Afterwards the post-of nurse left the room, she told the other nurse all she want is medicine & nurse faster you put your clothes on, faster you get you some medicine. I just had two procedures done in one day, I only received 5 days worth of pain medicine. The post-of nurse halfway helped me get dressed & someone pushed me outside, in rain with footies on I told her its raining I need my shoes on. She replied ( No I dont).

I feel so bad for the people that work here. They won't pay them what the government promised to pay them if they get sick with covid. I thought honor health was one of the best companies but after learning this I will never work for them and I will never come here again as a patient.
