My kids were born a decade and a half ago and I still remember how awful she was. Nurses at the hospital seemed to agree because, when I was labor, they took my vitals held onto them until a different doc came on because they knew Dr. Balk would just send me home. I had back labor and could hardly walk and never dilated after two days of labor.

Dr, Balk is a wonderful, kind and caring Dr. She listened to my concerns, did an exam and actually found an additional problem a NP failed to see at one of their other offices. She walked me through the whole procedure, always asking if I was okay. He voice was very calming. Afterwards she thoroughly explained the next step. Just got off the phone with my wife who had an appointment at this OBGYN and expressed to me her displeasure with the staff at this office. Unprofessional, no empathy for expectant mothers, preferential treatment based on what health insurance you have. I totally understand that the staff is unhappy with their choice of profession , that they didnt expect how unfair medical school expenses, insurance claims, and lawsuits can be when you work so hard to get MD at the end of your name. But the point of being an MD is to serve, not mistreat when you wont be able to bill what you want to bill to cover costs, if you got into this profession to support a high end lifestyle and tell people you are an MD, you are in the wrong profession and it's best to close up shop

I am not one to write reviews, let alone poor ones but I am so disappointed in my visit today. I came in with serious concerns only to feel like I was not listened to by Dr. Balk. She was quick to tell me all my symptoms were just an infection, give me a shot, and throw a prescription at me. In and out in 10 minutes. She also called for 2 completely unnecessary tests that just drove up my bill. I went to another doctor that same day and was listened to, and not only treated for my symptoms, but treated like family. I wont be coming back to SWWC
