    I wanted to do something special this birthday for my husband and his twin who were born on leap year. Christian created cupcakes in the shape of a "13" with custom photos on the top of each cupcake. I was so happy with the end product! Not only did the cupcakes look amazing, but tasted absolutely delicious! I am about to call and order again from Smallcakes because of their excellent customer service, great turn around time and high quality product!

    Visited the place to order custom cake. The person at counter had no idea. Had to keep messaging the owner for every little detail. Took full deposit and when I had to cancel the party due to family emergency, the owner says not refund. Ended up locking the money to the shop just for a 15min visit. Very bad business practice. More of legal CYA by putting signs in the store "no refunds". Seriously? You want me to by hundreds of dollar worth stuff just because I paid you some deposit? One of the very bad local businesses experience.

    I want to preface by saying that this bakery has really good tasting cakes! The cakes are moist, taste delicious, and are fresh! However, the customer service? Not so much. I reached out to the owner 3 times before he was able to get me in for a wedding cake tasting. The 1st and 2nd time, the owner said they would contact me later in the day to set up a time that would work but never did. The 3rd time, I called and pretty much said that if they dont want the business or dont have the bandwidth, they should let people know so that no one is getting their time wasted. The owner apologized and said thats not how they do business and confirmed by cake tasting appointment. The cakes during the tasting were delicious. We loved it. We just had a couple of more tastings scheduled before we could make a final call. Last night, I reached out via email to get a price estimate on the email thread with the cake size/design but never received a response (which is fine, it hadnt been long at all). So, I decided to call and the owner pretty much asked me to come in to get a pricing. So, I went in to speak with him and he asked do you have a budget? and I said that I was just looking for the best value for money and did not have a concrete budget. I told him I was between two bakeries (small cakes and another one) but the only difference was that the other one offered additional treats beyond the cake itself. He said, you should do with them then and I was taken aback because why would I come in to get a pricing (also buying a pack of 6 cupcakes at the same time) when I wanted to go with the other bakery and I certainly did not appreciate it. I asked for a firm price and he said to ask them when I was ready to book and I just wanted a baseline to go off of and he stated a dollar amount for a smaller cake than what his manager had stated for a larger cake during our tasting (at both the times, the cake design described to them was the same). Overall, would I go in to get cupcakes from them in the future? Probably. Would I want to interact with the owner who is over prideful and disrespects his customers? Absolutely not. No one wants to feel like that. I would rather pay more money to deal with a respectful person than pay less to deal with someone who is arrogant and has an attitude problem. Edit: No, no, no! Never said your wedding cakes were out of budget, in fact Im choosing to spend more at the other bakery. Your attitude and horrible personality is out of my budget though! And yes, having horrible customer service is a valid reason to leave a negative review when I mentioned that your cakes are fabulous. Youre just not so fabulous as a person. Not reading my review in its entirety before responding probably proves that! :)

    Im not a first time customer. This time I ordered a breastfeeding cake and the owner told me he would color match the breasts. After picking it up the day of, I found that they werent the right color. I called and the owner said theres nothing he could do for me and said it my mistake because I gave the picture reference. Even though we had a conversation in person and his words were Sure, I can color match no problem. I get that mistakes happen but theres nothing worse than a person who tries to put the blame back on the customer. I paid $280 for this cake and his response was , I can give you a $20 credit, at the least the cake was still good. He has a very I dont care, not my issue, argumentative demeanor. Hes all nice and smiles until something doesnt go right. Good luck if you have any issues with your cake because he will not help . He will probably put some petty response on here but most of his bad reviews speak the truth hes argumentative and rude.

Hi, I'm sorry that you felt you had a negative experience in our store because you were very happy and left very pleased when you were speaking to our staff and when you left. . There was no mention after the fact that there was a family emergency so I'm not sure why you are trying to elevate your review with that. We offered you a store credit which most custom cake shops do in these situations. You ordered a complex custom cake in which items had to be ordered and paid for given your extremely short notice order which we accommodated.

Hi, I'm sorry that we made the breast color different than what you requested. As you mentioned, you've been a very good customer and our comment of " there's nothing I can do, was a sincere one based on the fact that there was no one there to correct that mistake. We offered you a credit based on the mistake of the work, not the cost of our cake. At no point did I argue with you or disagree with anything you were saying.
