Dr Gillespie and his team are the epitome or professional and I couldnt be happier with how my surgery went. The whole process from pre-op to post-op was easy and I felt comfortable the entire time. Thank you again Dr Gillespie!

I'll start by saying I have never left a review online in my life but I feel so strongly about my absolutely fantastic experience with Dr. Gillespie that I feel compelled to do so in this case. I went in to Dr. Gillespie for a double inguinal hernia repair almost 3 weeks ago. From the initial exam I was so impressed by the front office, the professionalism of the entire team and Dr. Gillespie himself. This is truly a world-class office that places a high degree of focus on patient care! As for the surgery itself, the check-in at St. Joe's was spectacular. I went in for surgery and it went perfectly. I was up and around walking a mile the afternoon of my surgery with phenomenally little discomfort. The subsequent recovery the past 2 weeks has been great and I honestly did not feel what I would consider any measurable pain or discomfort. To say that after surgery was not what I was expecting. The incisions from the robotic procedure are so small I am still amazed how you can repair a double hernia through such tiny incisions. I'll close with simply a "Thank you" to Dr. Gillespie and all of those that supported my surgery. You should be proud of what you do every day and know that you make a difference in the lives of those you care for every day. Regards, Mike

I found Dr. Gillespie after almost two years with a different surgeon. I have a severe mesh infection from a previous hernia surgery. The old doc said he couldnt do surgery to fix the new huge hernia until the infection was gone, but nothing seemed to be helping. Antibiotics, ect. I met Dr. Gillespie in July 2022. I had been a 45 year smoker. Dr. Gillespie and I had an agreement, I would quit smoking if he could fix this mess I have going on. As of yesterday 1/1/2023 I am 3 months smoke free! I feel so comfortable with Dr. Gillespie. My surgery is scheduled for January 19th. After 9 previous surgeries on my tummy, I never thought I would be excited about having another one, but here I am. LOL. Thanks Dr. Gillespie for making me feel so comfortable. See you soon!

My dream and wish is that we have more doctors like Dr Gillespie in our world. He is a true gift to humanity, as are his Residents and staff. This experience (surgery) was a true team effort, which is so rare in our world today. The level of caring is extraordinary! It was a miracle I found Dr Gillespie as I was scheduled to have my surgery at the supposed best hernia hospital in the world in Toronto. But when I got to Toronto in May 2021, the surgeon I met was inhumane. I left in tears. And then on top of it, my surgery was delayed 16 months. No one cared. And this is why I felt sick care was such a bad joke until I met Dr Gillespie. You see, the only fear I had was of surgery and being cut open. I am extremely squeamish. And I have told friends and family that Id rather die than have surgery. I am not scared as much of dying. And this was not all my trauma but a deep ancestral trauma of failed medical experiments and procedures. It was a question of trust. When I looked at the online reviews of Dr Gillespie, I was encouraged. But still very skeptical since I am not in the habit of trusting strangers with my life. During our first meeting, I asked Dr Gillespie why I should trust him. His answers were straightforward and from the heart. He shared his story and why he loves his work and helping people. I also loved the way he worked with his residents and right hand, Mitzy. There was a sense of caring that I have yet to experience in the traditional medical establishment. I have had terrible experiences with doctors from a young age that impacted my health and body. And this was a huge decision for me. I decided to fully trust him and although my pre-op was harrowing, I found the courage to focus on what was important. I was also blessed to have the support of a new friend who helped me navigate and face my fear. She had excellent communication and updates while I was in surgery and communicated regularly with friends and family who were cheering me on (and shocked and relieved that it was finally happening). From the minute we arrived for the surgery, angels appeared from amazing nurses to anesthesiologists and Dr Gillespie. Everyone on the team was trustworthy and ready to repair my hernia. While I was terrified, I went out like a light. I was told it was complicated and I was lucky not to have waited. While in the hospital, I was even more amazed by the level of care. My wishes were always respected. Staff came by and were proud of their work and at times, I felt like they were artists so connected to their craft. I am grateful, humbled and cannot recommend Dr Gillespie and his team enough for giving me a new chapter in life. In our follow up meetings, I felt seen and encouraged. And as I said earlier, I wish there were more trusted Dr Gillespie's in the world. It is amazing how much he cares about people and at the same time, is focused on building a practice of humane physicians. What a gift to humanity! The best hernia doctor in the world is in Phoenix and you can choose to experience it for yourself ...
