We understand that being involved in a car accident can be extremely painful, and stressful, and it can disrupt nearly every aspect of your life. We really train our doctors and staff to understand how stressful it is to regain your health after a car crash. I would like to address you receiving 3 trigger point injections instead of 5. The human body can only process so much medication in a given period of time. The reason you only received 3 trigger point injections on any given visit is that 5 injections would have been too much for your body to metabolize. In our practice, we're proud of the fact that we treat your pain at its source. In your case, we started with a series of trigger point injections. Trigger points are small, non-forgiving muscle spasms, and when you have trigger points in your neck muscles, those muscles do not function correctly because the trigger points interfere with how the muscles contract and relax. The best way to apply medication is through a hypodermic needle, where the medication is injected directly into the trigger point. Although everyone's pain tolerance is different, I would rate the pain level of receiving a trigger point injection as 1 bee sting out of 5 bee stings. Of course, I gave it that rating when I personally had trigger point injection therapy.Just so you know, we plan a medical strategy for you as well as for every auto accident injury victim we accept. We start with trigger point injections to see if they will relieve your pain. If they do, we release you from our care. If they don't, we move up to facet joint injections (which are the small joints in your spine). As we provide these injections and you get relief, you are released from our care and referred back to your physician. Suppose the facet joint injections don't relieve your pain. In that case, we can provide medial branch blocks, and spinal epidural injections, and finally, if medically necessary, we can provide spinal nerve ablation (burning of the nerve roots). So we start everyone off with the least invasive procedure and only add the more invasive procedures if your pain does not subside. Also, it is our philosophy that if we can decrease the pain, you are experiencing, this will help you to receive your much-needed chiropractic care.I also want to thank you for the nice things you said about how my staff answered all of your questions, gave you paperwork when you asked for it, and ensured you got the service you were expecting.
