My family has lived in The Barclay House for over 8 years. Recently, management has become willing to invest in upgrading the building. Better-late-than-never. I suspect because the second-generation (family-owned) has now taken control from the "retiring" family members who seemed to view the building needs form a 1970's optics blur. This construction is disruptive. As such, management offered well in advance office space in Brookline for any tenant that needed this option. The Staff and tenants are terrific people. We are all working together to bring issues to management to "fix". When informed, management is quick to respond. Even a 24/7 Help-Line. Finally, and most importantly, in my 8 years I have never seen "rats" anywhere in this building, contrary to Tony D's posted comment. And, I have Grand-children all under the age of 10 years-old running to and frow.

This place is the worst. Constant construction on an old building so you can't work from home (so loud).  Rats everywhere.  Pool sucks go elsewhere!

I have had an apartment here for about 16 years. It is very clean and beautiful. The views are spectacular. There is a T stop at the corner. Shopping is in walking distance. Every time I have an issue, the staff addresses it immediately!! All the staff is pleasant and they know who I am. I love this place and would recommend it highly to anyone who wants a wonderful place to live.
