Business Response on Google Feb 24th, 2024
Mr. Moore had us out to do a sidewalk and pad. Once we set up his job I asked him if everything looked good before ordering concrete. He said everything looked great, proceed. We poured and finished his job, he paid for the work and told us how great everything looked. He then waited until almost 11pm to contact me and say he was unhappy with the sidewalk dimensions. The next day when we showed up, he explained his issues. We did everything exactly as the contract he signed stated. What he wanted was different than what he asked for when the contract was written up. I told him I would work with him and he proceeded to tell me about how his 4 year old could do better work. After mr Moore refused to talk about this, we left the job. He then proceeded to threaten to sue me. So I decided it was easier to remove and replace what he wanted out of my own pocket just to make him happy. We worked out a date for me to come back and do the work. We showed up at 7 am on the scheduled day and proceeded to start removing the area of concrete he wanted changed. Mr Moore came out side and I asked if he could move his truck so we could pull the dump truck in to load the removal concrete. Mr Moore refused to move and told us to wheel barrel the concrete 75 ft away infront of his neighbors house on the street where we were parked. After an hour of asking mr Moore to move his vehicle so we could do the work he requested, I told mr Moore that if he would not allow us to bring my truck to the location where the work was being done, we would leave and return at another date when he was ready for us to start. He then proceeded to threaten to have me arrested for vandalism because we saw cut the concrete at a groove in the sidewalk where we were supposed to start the removal. I then proceeded to ask Mr Moore to please move his truck several more times and he just walk away and went in his home. A few minutes later, Mr Moore returned and said to park infront of his driveway, which was not very close to the work location but closer Than in front of his neighbors home. A few minutes later he came back and said we had to move. I asked him again if he could please move his truck and I would be more than happy to move mine. He refused and said he would not move and was calling the police. The police showed up, the situation was explained and the cops were confused on why he would not move since he hired me. They then asked us both to move our vehicles. We both moved and we proceeded to do Mr. Moore’s job. He proceeded to make this job much more difficult to complete at every turn. We asked him to give specific dimensions so we could replace the concrete the way he wanted which he refused to do. I tried to explain that we already did the job once to the exact specifications of the contract and I did not want to do replace it again. He still refused to explain exactly what he wanted and told me I was the contractor figure it out. After arguing with mr Moore trying to get a straight answer, he finally explained what he wanted. We then proceeded to set up the job, pour it and finish it. After trying to do everything I could to please this individual at cost to myself, just so I could try and make him happy, he went out of his way to make everything as difficult as he possibly could.
