We recently moved to the area and asked several people for recommendations for auto service/repair. All directed us to T&M Automotive. I've had two opportunities to utilize T&M and am extremely pleased with the service and value they offer. Always professional and extremely knowledgeable. I found my "go to" auto shop!

We bought a used car in 5/2023 and in 6/2023, the clutch went out. The owner of the lot where we bought the car from, referred us to T & M Automotive as he knew the owner. We got the car towed there and trusted that they would repair the car properly and charge us a fair price. We went to pick up the car on 6/8/23 after a phone call that it had been repaired and ready for pick up. We were charged for "Clutch Kit - New" for a cost of $831.88 and "Shop supplies" for a cost of $29.12, totaling $925.58 (plus tax). Our auto warranty was also charged and paid for a "Slave Cylinder" for a cost of $785.17 of $854.08. The total amount that we ended paying was $994.49. When the man who had sold us, the car called T & M Automotive asking why we had to pay so much especially with our auto warranty covering most of the cost, the mechanic/store manager, "yelled at him" without any explanation of why we had to pay so much despite our warranty covering the repair. He hasn’t referred the store since to anyone who needs auto repair. Changing gears was still rough and we thought it was going to get better with time, but that was not so.
In November 2023, the clutch went out again. We called T & M Automotive and talked to mechanic/store manager explaining that the clutch went out again. He stated to have the car towed to the shop and they would assess to see what the issue was then. The reported assessment and repair were for "clutch fluid line" which costed us $275.91. We were informed that our auto warranty was not going to cover for any of this.
In February 2023, the clutch went out again. Again, we got the car towed to a different auto shop as we thought it maybe clutch fluid that run out. When they checked the fluid, they stated that it was at desired level but that the "clutch assembly" needed to be replaced. They charged us $111.38 for diagnostic fee. We called T & M Automotive as there was a warranty for the slave cylinder for 12 month / 12,000 miles. I informed the mechanic that this has been very frustrating as a clutch is not a part of the car that should wear out that fast. We rarely drove this car, especially during the winter, and whenever we did, we drove it at speed limits and not racing. This clutch issue never made sense! Not a big surprise, the clutch/slave cylinder was out of warranty by 100 miles. After a confirmation that we needed another clutch assembly, I asked the mechanic to call our warranty to see if they could cover some or all the repair costs. I was told that he was going to call but came to find out later, after I got called with the total cost for repair, from me calling the auto warranty, that no one called. I was informed that they'd cover the clutch slave again and that it had to be filed as a new claim. When we called the T&M Auto to ask a second time for them to call the auto warranty, we were informed that, "if I call them, I'll still charge you like I did last time." During this time, we also researched and found out that a new Clutch kit comes with a slave cylinder included. Unsure why we were charge for that separately. The highest cost for a clutch kit online or from 2 auto shops that we checked at was around $350 but we got charged $704.88 & labor $405 for a total of $1200.37 (tax included). When I asked where this clutch kit was purchased from, I was told, "from the part store."
I believe we got ripped off, not once but twice, which is sad because I have no trust in T & M Automotive and will never take my car there again nor recommend them. I totally believe that the clutch was never fixed right the first time despite being over-charged. The mechanics at this auto store failed us.
All the above amounts exclude tow fees.
