Location is great if youre looking to stay in Seaport, but rooms are gimmicky and not functional.
Thermostat wont go lower than 68, and my room was constantly above 70. Way too hot and stuffy for a room facing The Barking Crab. Windows also wouldnt open to allow fresh air in.
The rainfall shower constantly dripped even when turned off. As someone with rainfall showers installed in our house, these were garbage. Standing under the water had you < 6 inches from the wall - I constantly made contact with the cold stainless steel soap rack during each shower. The bathroom fan also didnt work, or if it did, did nothing.
Im 62 - the bathroom sink countertop was barely above my knees. Never have I seen a hotel have such low bathroom sinks.
Also had to go request towels at the front desk on my 2nd day. The rooms have an electronic Privacy/Service button but mine didnt seem to be acknowledged.
Rooftop bar reminded me of a college bar. Loud music with bad drinks (granted mine were on the house, but I didnt finish half of it). Great view but you have to pay extra for a private room or igloo and cant walk out to the left unless doing so (was able to go for free due to Chris giving us all access).
The bartender at the restaurant in the lobby is great. Great service all around except for cleaning (they threw away my contacts case tops so I had to go buy a new one).
I cannot recommend staying here unless you are able to pull off sub-$275/night. If you dont have reason to be in Seaport, I recommend staying anywhere between Back Bay, Beacon Hill, and North End.
I moved to The Newbury after 3 nights and while it wasnt perfect, my stay was much more enjoyable (even though it also isnt 5 stars in my book). A hotel should at bare minimum offer a feeling of relief when returning after a long day away from home; sadly, The Envoy did not for me during my trip, which is why I cant recommend staying here.

My wife made a reservation for this room with the prepay option that they offer on the website when we got there they had her reservation but no record of her confirmed payment (she still hasn't received that money back) after getting the run around from customer service on the phone (Marriott and Envoy are apparently not connected yet Envoy uses Marriott to book) I decided to just use my card to make the full payment price of the room plus deposit on St Patrick's day weekend (I still haven't received that deposit back either). The room was nice and we went for breakfast with the continental coupon they give you at checkin, on the back it says up to $18 but the server will only honor up to $15 and you'll be responsible for the rest. The only 5 star rating this hotel really deserves is the location as it's right near the water, south station and a bunch of fun attractions and amazing restaurants.
Walkability: 11 min walk from South Station
Next door to the barking crab, Alamo theater, puttshack and pier 47

Stayed at this location from March 22nd - 24th...location is perfect overlooking the water...front desk service was great and allowed for early check in on Friday...room didnt have fridge, but after calling front desk, they provided us on free of charge...wish they had parking, but they dont, so they refer you to some locations around the corner...stayed in a room with 2 double beds...it was perfect...shower was excellent...Friday night went to rooftop bar...it was DOPE...the music was great, ambience/crows as well...excellent view of Boston...only downfall is that they close at 11pm...wish i didnt have to take my business somewhere else...Sat morning front desk agent suggested a PERFECT breakfast spot and check out on Sunday was flawless...highly recommend
