Usually I love getting some food here, but Sat morning, with guests in town, we tried to get an 8 top and waited for 45 mins as everyone on the list before us was seated promptly. The hostess said 8 tops were hard, but we watched many 4 tops and 2 tops sit before us as we tried to entertain our kids outside. Unacceptable to not find a way to do the math and make an 8 top work. We ended up leaving and discovering a great new biscuit place

I was so embarrassed. On a return visit to black mountain I took my mother to the cafe. The food was okay but the service SUCKED. The waitress walked past our table three times while the check and payment was sitting at the edge of the table. Hoping the girl would get the idea mom told Nathan and I to outside and walk around. Still, she didn't get the message. Finally she found the exact change for the bill and walked out. Although I absolutely love your stuffed french toast I will not be returning. It's a shame. We received such excellent service before that. Good food and good service work hand in hand. Can't have one without the other. Hope they get it together before they find themselves out of business.

Do not eat here! At lunch today found nine hairs in my food. Staff apologized but...really, how do nine hairs get in food? Wasn't offered any other food, but was given a ten dollar gift certificate to use next time.

The food here is always excellent. The chef/owner Cookie Hadley is dedicated to purchasing all of their ingredients locally and the quality reflects that. The burgers are excellent and the breakfast is outstanding.
Lots of local art on the walls. Outdoor dining available on the front porch. Family and pet (on the porch) friendly.
