Living here healed my receding hairline and cured my diabetes. When the wind blows through andover park if you listen closely you can hear angels singing and the voice of sir David attenborough narrating your daily life. It is a magical place and I think I'll die here and have my ashes spread around the club house so I can be here forever.

Pros:
-right next to a very nice paved trail, ballpark and playgrounds
-safe surrounding area
-pretty forested setting
-friendly staff, maintenance crew is prompt.
-nice pool
-nice location right off Murray and Scholls, walking distance to Murray Hill and Progress Ridge
-our unit has lots of windows for natural light
-our unit has a nice fireplace for occasional cold nights in winter
-somewhat of a nice gym (but many machines have been broken a while). Has a sauna (just have seen many ants in it once before it was heated up. People have unfortunately carved into the wood, though. Other than that its nice and Ive enjoyed it a lot)
Cons:
-tons of mold build up, windows leak water. Probably my biggest peeve.
-half of the windows are insanely hard to open to the point where we never open them. We asked maintenance when we first moved in about it and they couldnt do anything. Safety hazard and unpleasant.
-things break down a lot- for example
towel racks/toilet paper holders (and we dont even put much weight on them), stove handle, dishwasher recently. Cheap blinds in the kitchen and you have to pay to get them replaced. Washing machine is old and kind of touchy and gets mold build up even when we leave its door open and stuff. Some things are kind of cheap like the kitchen counter cupboards (vinyl or wherever) peeling off. Freezer sealing is cheap so it can open easily when you shut the fridge.
-deck was gross- covered with green mold when we moved in, pine needles everywhere, needed to be power washed. So never use it
-cops around a lot. A couple years ago there was police activity and they went on the intercom telling us to stay in our apartments. One time the police blocked off the pool/office area- heard later possible hostage situation
-gets congested- lots of times cars are loading and blocking garages so people cant get in
-front door doesnt seal all the way- so waste of heat in winter and lets bugs in
-bug problems (ants in two rooms, spiders)- place isnt sealed up enough. We are clean, too. Theres an exterminator that apparently comes every Friday though
-only one trash receptacle so you have to walk far (for most) or drive your trash up to it
-many neighbors have cars that make lots of noise, racing cars or whatever which is irritating. Just kind of speaks to what some of the residents are like if youre wondering.
-many of our neighbors have been very noisy, unlike any other complex Ive lived in not the complexes fault but again, speaks to what just some of the residents are like. Neighbors above have argued at 2am, had to call the cops once when we heard a scary domestic dispute, and old neighbors would blast heavy music nightly. I never had this many issues at other places. I guess also walls are thin. Can hear neighbors going pee even.
*not saying all residents are less than ideal like this, just sharing some of my bad experiences.
-very limited guest parking. Garages are small so its not fun when you have to share it with another tenant.
-they also have charged us incorrectly twice now saying we didnt pay last months rent which wasnt correct. We talked to them about it and they fixed it.
-many workout machines are broken
-maintenance did a weird thing recently- an isolated incident- they painted all the fire lanes and didnt put signs around and I got paint on my shoes and slipped which hurt
-also- this isnt a big deal but just beware theres no a/c like a lot of older places in pdx so bring your own
Overall-
I dont recommend this place unless you dont mind these things. I dont see break-ins and extremely unsafe activities so thats good compared to some places... Ive lived in much nicer places though for a lot less of a price! I really like the pros I mentioned above especially the location, but hope to move out asap.
I agree with Beths post below.
Our friend found this place for us without having done a tour, it was a rushed thing, we wouldnt have signed otherwise.
