image I found Great Lakes Home Renovations through ReBath and wanted a complete bathroom remodel. Their sales consultant told me they would reinstall my toilet every day since that was the only one I had. This turned out to be a lie and I was told by Bob, who did the final measurements, that they did not do that and their sales people had been told not to promise that. Also, since it was not stated in my contract they would not honor that. She had also told me once they got into the walls they would fix any mold and Bob also confirmed that was false. This should have been an indicator on how this remodel would go but since I was past the time I could cancel the contract, I thought I was stuck with them.
My remodel started on 06/14/21 and after that they were at my house 5 additional times, finally completing this project 15 months later on 09/23/22. (Yup, over a year.) They frequently tried to schedule my repairs when they had a cancellation instead of just scheduling me to start with so I would get calls at 8pm asking if they could come the next day. This is my own fault for paying them before going over every inch to make sure I was happy. Some of the issues were due to a manufacturer defect but some of it was poor workmanship. I still have some cosmetic stuff Im not happy with but Im just going to fix it myself..
I like supporting local businesses and really wanted to like this company but it was a stressful/frustrating experience and I dont want anyone else to go through it.

image This company created a terrible predicament for my family. They backed out of a signed deal and delayed our kitchen remodel for months. There sales pitches were aggressive and off-putting.
I wish I could rate this company a "zero stars".
I would rate Great Lakes a zero if the option was available. It's a long story but the bottom line is we put our full trust into this company and right as our kitchen project was to be started, they mailed us a letter saying they no longer do kitchens. Just like that. Now we have to start the process over with another company from ground zero.
Keep in mind, they were selling kitchen remodels at the Minneapolis Home and Garden Show. We signed up for an on-site quote. A few weeks later, someone from Great Lakes spent three hours helping us pick out counter tops and cabinets. We were pretty excited. Now we're stuck.
At the end of the day, they apologized for not doing kitchens any longer. My thought was you shouldn't be in business if you can't honor your commitments. Of course we had to sign a contract and in that contact, it states Great Lakes can basically do whatever they want to do according to the employee answering the phone today. Oh and she really didn't want me to write a negative Google review. She said "it wasn't nice to do that to a family owned business." What about me the customer?
I have lost 100% trust in this business. Personally, I would never do business with this company again. And now we will need to find someone else to do our bathroom, too. Not going to trust this company!

image The process starting with Jessi Oliver picking out my walls and fixtures. Brandon made sure everything was measured correctly as I ordered a full stone wall shower. Jesse and Jalston, the installers, were friendly, conscientious, and knowledgeable.
I enjoyed working with Great Lakes Home Renovations and love my new shower! Services: Drywall installation, Bathtub replacement, Remodeling
