image I found Skyland Trail to be very professional and comprehensive. They provided excellent care to my daughter and kept me very involved in the process. The staff at Skyland Trail
Were very committed to my daughter's needs and improving mental health. They left a lasting impact and I would recommend them above any other facility in our region.

image I liked almost every part of the program at Skyland, it was an amazing experience. But the billing department is absolutely predatory. After they failed to submit paperwork to my insurance company within the allotted time, they waited weeks to confirm with insurance that residential treatment would no longer be covered. Two months later, we have just been slammed with a bill for 15 grand, because apparently for those three weeks we had to pay in full since insurance wouldn't cover it. Again, we've only been told this now, two months after the fact. If I could go back in time I would not have admitted, despite how helpful it was, because the fact is that we just cannot afford that exorbitant amount. To top it off, we only received the official bill today, and are being told that it is due today as well. They even flippantly admitted that they had "meant send it out earlier", but are still insisting on payment in full immediately.
So yeah, if you've got tens of thousands of dollars to blow on it, I recommend it. Otherwise, stay far away.

Thank you for your feedback. Working with insurance for mental health treatment is complicated. Many decisions about coverage and continued authorization are controlled by the insurance providers and not by Skyland Trail. We provide up front financial counseling and do our best to ensure that families understand their financial responsibility prior to admission and throughout treatment. As a nonprofit organization, we offer financial aid for eligible families to reduce private pay costs. And we understand that residential treatment is a significant investment for clients and families. If you would like to speak to someone about your specific concern, please call Brad Gnagy at 404-333-0005.

image Painful process to get our child admitted. Staff not very helpful or friendly and often rude. Denied admission for our teen child because she admitted to smoking pot. What kind of treatment center on the planet doesnt think teenagers are partaking in smoking marijuana. Do not recommend they only accept certain people to fluff their success rates. They dont truly care about helping troubled teens.

Thank you for providing your feedback. Our admissions assessment process ensures that our treatment program is a good match to effectively address a patient’s diagnoses, symptoms, and challenges. We are not a “one-size-fits-all” program. Our admissions criteria ensure that patients who admit are likely get better as a result of engaging in our specialized treatment programs. We recognize that residential treatment is a significant investment of resources and time for patients and their families. Our admissions process helps identify the type of treatment that best meets the clinical needs of the patient, whether that is treatment at Skyland Trail or at other programs with a different focus or specialty. If you would like further information about programs that may meet your family’s needs, please call 404-315-8333 and ask to speak to the admissions director.

image Dont bother, especially if youre a person a color. They will not treat you like a human, let alone as an adult.

Engaging in a residential mental health treatment program often is a new and unfamiliar experience for patients. While there is space to practice independence and new coping skills, there are rules and expectations designed to keep everyone safe and working toward healthier futures together. That balance can be challenging, especially for adults accustomed to managing their challenges on their own. Our mental health experts work with each client individually to help match them with the best next steps for long-term recovery. If there are aspects of this treatment environment you’d like to discuss, please call our VP of Clinical Services at 678-686-5936.
