This company is unprofessional and keep making excuses why its taking months to complete the work that should have already been done!! Families wait and save to have a home and your company is making it a stressful time not an enjoyable moment in their lives, you should feel ashamed!!

After moving across the country and spending almost a year away from my wife, children, and dogs, I can say that one of my biggest regrets is giving my business to Clayton. Lies after lies. Promises after promises. I was told they could have it done by May if I went with them. After a long neverending battle we finally got the keys the week of Thanksgiving. I parted ways with the first Clayton dealer I chose to do business with because after moving across the country, I caught them in several lies about the finish date and final pricing. Go figure. I have been waiting patiently for the "one year in house" to end so I will never have to speak with them again. After my wife called to have some final repairs completed before the one year ended they were mocking her and giggling like a bunch of high school girls. The second they hand you the key they are constantly hounding you for 5 star reviews, which is always a big red flag ! The final pricing still doesn't make any sense. Houses are one of the biggest purchases you will make in your life, it shouldn't come with this much buyer's remorse. Shame...

Update: I added a star because they did help us address the leak issue completed by one of the contractors. Some of the issues we encountered during building process might have be due to Covid period. My main advice is improve communication (especially the service dept.) responding to emails and text properly ( or please call) with updates or with expect set date. I really did not want to call multiple times to get something fixed.

One year later and I feel ready to provide proper review. Could have been much better. They are lucky they got a decent review at the beginning just cause they appeared nice and honest plus I do not want to mess anyone's paycheck...but felt mislead. Unfortunately typical sale tactics with empty promises.
Many promises as it relates to customer service and follow through made but poorly delivered, felt we constantly had to follow-up and push for outcomes that where unfortunately not of highest quality, halfway done, or delayed. Since they already got payment seemed they did not feel they had to address concerns on a timely manner
Felt like they dumped our home in our lot for it to just sit there while lot not yet ready and took while to start set-up. Those recommended by location and contracted to do plumbing did a poor job, currently have a leak among other issues at the beginning (no hot water, faulty hose). Getting someone to call back take months and constant calling. Paid for services and warranty that we had to pull teeth just to get it done and still took months. Only reason they still stand is because not many contractors in the area and little options. I am somewhat grateful for there help because at least it was an option, but would avoid doing business again.
