The sales person who came out to give me an estimate was very thorough and explained everything. Based on my experience with him, I went with Johnson Storage and Moving. I had two pieces of furniture that were important to me and he assured me that they would not be damaged. When the movers arrived, I again showed the driver the two pieces of furniture and was given the same assurance. However, when my furniture arrived, one of the pieces was damaged very badly because the other workers did not follow the driver's directions. Too bad, right? I am still waiting for the insurance adjustor to contact me about my dining room table.

Terrible company. DO NOT USE! We have moved frequently over the past five years and have always used United companies. This time we had movers show up without a way to protect carpeting...their solution? Tape the stairs! I am not kidding. They spent over an hour taping the stairway. They also did not bring boxes to pack things...WHAT? I was shocked! So more delay for them to go buy some, after already showing up late for the move. Also, they damaged several pieces of furniture, and were incredibly difficult to deal with in regards to the claim.

Please, please, please do not use Johnson! My only regret (other than using Johnson) is the fact that there is not a choice for zero stars. My wife and I have moved 15 times in the last 20 years. I am a senior executive with a Fortune 250 company. Johnson moved us back in November. They damaged two of our sofas (in addition to other items). We cannot get Johnson to pay for the damages to the furniture. In fact at this point they have stopped even returning our phone calls. I filed a complaint with BBB and Johnson doesn't even respond to them. United Van Lines should be ASHAMED.
