Do NOT go here!!! Total scam!! I wish I had read reviews before having something tapered here. The tailor charged me $40 and all he did was one stitch down the side leaving the excess fabric. It was so sloppy, I could have done it with a sewing machine. Also he only accepts cash. Terrible customer service, overpriced, and very unprofessional. I would give zero stars if I could. Don't recommend!!!

I have done a lot of business with JC Tailors as I am short and lift weights so I need alterations frequently. I am currently unemployed and interviewing a lot. For the second time, I received a call asking for more money from an Asian lady. Both times she said she could not honor the quote because the person that gave me the price made a mistake. They currently have the jacket to a suit of mine and are holding it hostage over a small tear. They have had my jacket for 4 days and just now decided they need more money. Why did it take them 4 days to figure out they needed more money? I received the call demanding more money the day before it was due. They increased the price from $10 to $25. Its not the amount of money but its an ethics problem. I cant do business with them because of this. Find someone that charges more but does the right thing. Update: 11/5/22 they now want $30 to hem a pair of jeans. I'll learn how to sew myself before I pay that much.

For every one star review on here - I understand.  I feel scammed, my time wasted, and total lack of caring for quality work.  For hemming my jeans they just tucked it up and hand sewed it.  The bottom of my wide leg jeans was a lumpy stiff mess.  Hemming means cutting the extra length and making a sewn hem that looks like the original hem.  If the hem was originally blind stitched then blind stitch the new one.  This is just STANDARD guidelines for a hem.  Last time I got my pants hemmed here it turned out OK but came apart quickly on the first wearing,  At least it was only $10.This time he tried to charge me $43 for crappy work, & I refused and said I'm not leaving the shop until you give me my pants back.  He said $30 for cash.  Who carries cash anymore?!!!  The pants were only $15 from a thrift store.  He didn't say a word then proceeded to rip out the hand sewn mess of a hem.  When he was finished he handed me my jeans back.  UGH - not even a sorry.

I wish I would have looked at the reviews prior to coming here. DO NOT give your business to this fraud establishment.
I had a cheap bridesmaid dress that needed to be altered an inch or two. When I arrived the man said it was $120 dollars. I was shocked because that is significantly higher than I have ever paid before at other alternative places. We went back and forth multiple times. Finally, he said I could pay $80 if it was cash (that is questionable...).
The man working clearly was trying to scam me out of money. I asked multiple times for a price chart and he did not have one but instead said "1 dollar per inch". He stated that my dress had 300 inches of fabric around the bottom (that is 25 feet which is not possible). This place is deceitful.
If you are looking for an alterations place, I have had great success at Unique Tailor on Mockingbird. I wanted a closer location but I will definitely be driving farther away in the future. Service: Bridesmaid dress alterations
