*** On March 11th, 2018, this Half Price Books location will be closing it's doors for good. ***
Since this is such a rare occurrence, I'm not going to review the location, but instead I'm going to use this space to tell you what a Half Price Books location on the verge of closing looks like (we visited the store 8 days before closing).
First of all, I have to say that it's not what you would expect it to be like. There are no big store closing sales going on, no big bright banners/signs announcing the closure (just a small notice on the doors), and the store itself looks like any normal operating day. Shelves are still full, they're still buying merchandise from customers, etc.
The only noticeable difference I could see was a small team of employees scanning lots of products around the store, a broken toilet left in disrepair, and tons of customers asking questions about the closure.
I happened to even be witness to a customer asking a employee if they were going to be selling their furniture/fixtures when they close and being told that they won't be sold. But I should also say that the employees were also telling people that a new store would be opening in Arlington so maybe they are just going to hold that stuff for the next location?
Anyhow, I've got to say that overall this was a very interesting sight to see. And even though I haven't frequently visited this location for many years, I am an old Arlington-ite and when I lived there I use to juggle between this and the Cooper location quite a bit so there is some sadness for me seeing this location close.
Hopefully they won't have any more terrible parking situations that customers would have to deal with during Texas Rangers/Dallas Cowboys/big concerts & events at the new location. 😃

I've always been a fan of used books to save money and then resell them to buy other books. With so many magazines and books headed towards ereaders it's nice to hold a physical book to read.
Always a great selection of current best sellers at half price (duh) or more off the retail price. If you look or subscribe to their email newsletter you'll get occasional coupons to save even more. The only weak area of books is computers and technology, those tend to be a generation old. Auto and motorcycle repair books are random by location, as you'd imagine them to be, but you can find some incredible repair manuals on fuel injection, air conditioning, as well as customization. This is my true treasure to find at Half Price Books.
Video and game choices are full of random finds including video game consoles. An excellent store, hope their business model lives forever.
