In the parking lot, there were about 7 people just sitting behind the building. Reading other reviews of this place this seems to be a thing all night and day. So, I felt my safety was at risk.
When you first walk in, you can tell this is not a place you want to stay. The carpet is torn up and dirty, things look like they torn apart.
This hotel is 3 floors with no elevator.
The smell of cigarette smoke fills the halls and the rooms despite it being a non-smoking room. The beds in the room are stained black and full of holes. Every time I check into a hotel, the first thing I do is look at the bed. I was afraid to touch the bed.
I immediately brought my concerns to the front desk staff and told them I wanted to cancel my reservation. I was charged for one night but got a refund for the remaining nights, which is fair.
As I was leaving, someone else was checking in. They put that person in the room I was just in! The staff never went and checked the room between me and the next person. Even tho I did not stay there and was in the room for 5 minutes, the staff should've fully investigated the room before putting someone else in it. They were trying to double down on their earnings since I paid for the room, and someone else paid for it as well.
The 1 good thing about this place was that the lady who helped us out was very friendly.
I do not recommend staying here. The picture they use on Expedia isn't even their lobby!

The absolute worst customer service I have ever had. Employees are openly hostile with customers, and the owner will just stare at you or ask you questions loudly like "WHY ARE YOU HERE" while you're standing outside. Bare basic courtesies such as "Hello", "Thank you." and "You're welcome." are utterly absent. Room floor was filthy, we swept it ourselves.

It takes a special person to live here but I like it for what it is.
THE BAD:
1. The normal patrons are homeless or passerbyers. Expect all the normal homeless shenanigans (petty arguments, loitering, outside filth, and occasional hookers).
2. The wait staff usually seems annoyed, understandingly. They must deal with rude, low-class patrons and loitering all day every day.
THE GOOD:
1. The doors are locked at night, and front desk staff demands that guest show their faces when entering and wait for customers to retrieve them.
2. It's connected to Dami restaurant. Dami serves very good fried rice and sushi. They also do room service for an additional $5 only.
3. It's located just 4 blocks from the 5th Avenue Mall and other city attractions. The area is beautiful.
