image Both my children have attended Ascension Academy. My daughter graduated 4 years ago and my son is a sophomore. What we love the most about the school is the environment, staff and faculty. Students are kind to one another, all staff members are wonderful, friendly and helpful, and the teachers are the best you can find in all Amarillo. They care and love our children, and give them their everything, far beyond what you can ever expect from any teacher! I know my children will always have fond memories of their school experience and will cherish this experience for the remainder of their lives. As parents, we have at times contemplated moving our kids to a public school, but no matter how big of a financial sacrifice it is for our us, Ascension remains our number one choice.

image My son has been here since the 6th grade and he loves it. The staff and faculty treat each student and their families like they are part a huge family. They went out of their way to ensure that he wouldn't have to go back to public school due to financial problems we were having during his 6th grade year. For his 7th grade year they set his tuition to an amount that was much more affordable and when we fell behind on the payments, they worked with us until we got his tuition down from $1800 to $887 from June till then end of July. We only owe $237 to be able to get last year's tuition paid which will be covered next month then we'll start paying the tuition for this year. Any other private school of this kind would not have let my son stay this long with as far behind we got on his tuition during his 6th grade year. And personally, I'm very glad they are that way because my son is thriving so much better there than he did when he was in public school. It was discovered that he was gifted and talented when he was in the 3rd grade, and then in the 4th grade he started getting in trouble for reading or doodling after he got all his work done and was waiting for the rest of his class to finish theirs. Here they encourage things of that nature and offer a curriculum that is both stimulating, challenging and engaging which keeps his very active and fertile mind focused on the task at hand. I love this school and would highly recommend it to other parents of a minority student who get bored easily with the public school curriculum as it has a very diverse student body and programs and clubs that aren't available in public schools. So if your child is extremely intelligent and public school isn't doing it for them anymore, then you need to give Ascension Academy a try. I promise you won't be disappointed.
