Contacted Zimmerman Concrete about a patio, fire pit, and rock wall install in the Summer of 2020. Dave came out and gave us an estimate. He seemed like a standup guy. After checking out a few other contractors, we let Dave know that we would like to do business and he gave us a start date. The start date came and went and we heard nothing. After contacting him, he told us that the rain we had gotten during the week had caused a delay with a couple of his projects and he was backed up. I told him that was understandable. He gave us another time window. Again this window came and went. Every time I tried calling him, he would send it to voicemail. When I texted him to see if he could give us an estimate on when he could realistically start the project, he did not answer - he has his Read Receipts on so I know he read the text. So basically he ghosted us after agreeing to do the work. The worst part is that he had us buy a fire pit installation kit for $1,100, as he doesn’t get those himself, and that he would reimburse us for it. I bought it and now it has been sitting in my garage for 3 months. I understand with the pandemic contractors have been very busy, but the least you can do is communicate with us and if you are not interested in the job, let us know. He left us with no time to find another company to do the job and now we are waiting until the Spring of 2021 to have the patio installed - won’t be using Zimmerman this time!
