My 18 year old granddaughter fainted and was transported by ambulance to the emergency department and was diagnosed with a bladder infection. After seeing her physician following this incident he said she did not have a bladder infection according to labs taken at the emergency department. The packet of papers the emergency department gave to us had another individual's Emergency Room Sign In Sheet stapled to the packet..her symptoms and all of this individual's personal information including address, phone number, and Social Security number!

UPDATE:
Had another encounter with HRH ER today, several years later. Nursing and support staff are doing their best, but the doctors continue to be apathetic, rude, and unhelpful. I needed antibiotics for an infection. At no time did I request or indicate that I wanted pain medication but I was still treated like a drug-seeker. News flash, Doc: Antibiotics arent opioids.
I honestly dont know how this place stays open. I ended up driving up to Elma to Summit instead of being treated like a criminal at HRH. Received excellent, kind, respectful care. Do better, Aberdeen!

Compliments first: Paramedics and ER staff were wonderful. Very compassionate and professional. Nursing staff for the most part were kind, attentive and professional.
Critique second: The CCU was disorganized, and the attending physician made me feel foolish for coming in. He ran several expensive tests, even though he repeatedly commented that nothing was wrong. Kind of felt like he was running up the bill? The overnight nurse was a disaster. Brought me a heating pad that didnt work, was generally clumsy and unprepared. Ill assume this was a floater who was unfamiliar with the unit?
Minor complaint: The food is bordering on inedible. Just nasty. I dont expect anything gourmet, but other than the green salad, everything was just awful.
After being kept for 3 days, I was sent home with no resolution of my symptoms, no diagnosis, and other than see your primary doctor, no instructions for further care. Huge waste of time, resources and money.
In general, the staff was all very kind. Clueless, but kind.

Very aggressive for Health care. Don't go there if you're a human!!! Very scary male nurse. It would be nice if we had a choice, locally.

The patient care here is so extremely low. My boyfriend got the wrong diagnosis. They told him he had stable fractures and he had actually broken three vertebrae. AND I called in to file a complaint and NEVER got a call back. Might as well close this place down. Id rather drive farther and get worse, than ever go back here.

My daughter was seen in the HRH ER on December 28th, 2023 after she and I were caught in a King Tide Sneaker Wave at the Ocean Shores Jetty. She was totally submerged under water and I literally couldn't locate her. A couple came to.help me find her. When we did, she was beyond terrified! The ambulance took her to HRH where she was seen for DROWNING, ASPIRATION PNEUMONIA AND HEMATOMAS. The doctor gave my husband maybe 20 seconds of his valuable time and we never saw him again. The male nurse said my daughter could wash the sand out of her eyes by taking a shower at home. She had been vomiting sand and ocean water and was seen for DROWNING, ASPIRATION PNEUMONIA AND HEMATOMAS. She wasn't cared about there. They didn't clean her up even after her clothes were cut off because of hypothermia due to the cold ocean water. They didn't bother to.keep her overnight for observation. They did give her an antibiotic. So very sad to not care. The hematomas were from the logs hitting her while under water. It was horrific! We thought ER staff would care but the ones we met...didn't.
