SpringHill Suites by Marriott Austin Northwest/Research Blvd.

One of the nicest Springhill Suites we've been too. Rooms were extremely clean. Service was excellent. Busy weekend and barely heard anything in our room. Very convenient location. Great choice if you are in this area!

Rooms were very comfortable, though the shower was left unclean, and the light switches don't make sense (cant turn on a lamp unless the major light is switched on?). Breakfast was decent. No indoor/heated pool was a major disappointment. Some of the staff was gruff, but most were pleasant. Rooms: Comfy beds, weird light system, tiny unlined trash bin, shower leaks over the top of its door onto the floor. Nearby activities: There are a couple close things nearby, indoor skydiving. Most of what we did that was more affordable was a drive. Safety: It felt safe there.

This was one of the better Marriott stays that I have had in awhile. The gentleman at the front desk (Sorry that I didn't get his name) was so nice, and he had made sure that we had adjoining rooms before I even had to ask. He was what hospitality should be all about - anxious to make my stay a memorable one. The rooms were great, but like other reviewers I agree about the light switches - I never could figure out how to turn the light in the desk area off, without killing power to the bedside plugs. The breakfast was one of the best that I have had in a long time at a Marriott - it was actually edible! Eggs were obviously fresh, not powdered, although they were a little bit undercooked, and the grey masses in them were a little unnerving. The sausage was delicious, something I never thought I would say, and they has freshly cooked oatmeal with lots of adds available. The big hit for me was the Madeleines which seemed to be freshly baked, warm, and were delicious! A nice touch. Thank you for a very pleasant stay in Austin - I'll be back!
