U-Stor-It Self Storage - Otay

Went in to acquire a unit and was greeted at the front desk by a young woman named Yanely I believe. She was very informative and helpful with all of the questions I had. Great customer service, hopefully she'll help me again in the future.

Ive been renting from them for the past two years and the past 3 visits there was no one at the counter for over 30 minutes, and when I spoke to the manager, Yaeraneli I was told that everything is handled by her even though theres someone above her and she cant and wont do anything past letting me know that. They were supposed to open the location at 9:30 this morning. I got there around 9:35 and waited around until 10:05, called over 15 times and no one showed up. The sign(s) on the door said also said open. I didnt get a call back until 11:03 and I was told they didnt open until 10:30 because Ms. Yaeraneli had something else more important to do. Doesnt matter that I drove 40 mins for things I NEEDED and had to leave without them. The workers here seem to be real lackadaisical and uncaring smh.

Originally very professional and kind workers! Great with follow up, and communication! However, as time went on, learned they do randomly raise rent on you, and sometimes staff is not very supportive, and helpful to your situation.

Good affordable storage for obvious reasons. It's directly near the border. Customer service is ok depending on the person. The one person I believe who might be the manager. Poor customer service and demeanor compared to the other employees there. Not helpful at all. When there's issues with the bathroom key because an associate took it home or another customer didn't return it. Her response is McDonald's or Starbucks. How about you make sure you have spares and a process to eliminate these simple issues. When customers are moving items they can't just leave in the middle of moving because of a bathroom key issue you seem unable to take care of. This place would be 5 stars if it wasn't for the poor customer service.
