Looking for great Mexican food? Keep looking. If you're dying for a taco, though, and you're in the neighborhood, you could do worse. Everything is okay but pushing the place up a notch is the fresh salsa bar. Anything's great with the right salsa, right?

Ordered this for a catering lunch and it was GREAT! I was surprised on how much food they gave us and how good everything was. The food was flavorful and there were no complaints from anyone. Definitely a good deal for the price and we will be ordering again!

I've never really liked reviews where the reviewer goes to a Mexican restaurant and then says they don't like Mexican, and gives it a bad review. With that being said, I'll say straight up that I'm not a fan of other Mexican chains. They do nothing for me. However, I know that Baja Fresh has a strange cult following (as do a lot of chains it seems) so I figured I'd give it a shot.
Suffice to say I won't be going back.
The chicken was dry, the tortilla was really doughy, and the rice was bland. On the plus side, the black beans were pretty good and saved this place from a one-star rating.
They also have a free salsa bar, which is cute, and they give you chips with every meal. The chips were generic, though the salsas were interesting. I tried one of the "hot" ones that wasn't the slightest bit hot, just kind of weird. If you would have told me that the mango "salsa" were fruit salad, I'd have believed you. The medium Baja salsa was decent, and I constantly reapplied it to my burrito to give it some taste.
Despite the fact that they just opened, the staff seemed well trained and fairly ready for the crowd. Though I was a little disturbed that the song playing in the store was a strange soft rock version of Sweet Child O' Mine. I don't even like Guns 'n Roses, and I was offended.
