This place is absolutely incredible. Every single person Ive met has been extremely helpful, knowledgeable and most importantly welcoming. Within minutes of speaking with Dan on the phone I knew I wanted to learn/train here. Since then, Ive had nothing but amazing experiences and imagine Ill continue to have many more. The price comparison for training and equipment alone should influence people to come here, but its so much more than that. The interactions and experiences Ive had with this team is beyond anything I expected and Im so thankful I chose this shop/family for my SCUBA journey. Special shout out to Travis, Melissa and Jack for taking care of me! Much love to Dive Masters SA

We recently took the dive masters course with instructor Travis for open water diving for an upcoming trip, their team were professionals who were forthcoming and in depth with all procedures, safety equipment, and tips for safe diving! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place for training or equipment. They even brought extra equipment for the dive when one of our divers was missing goggles, just in case. Great guys.

If I had time to write a book about my experience with Dive-Masters every chapter would be a brimming with amazing stories, experiences & people! My husband & I were completely new to diving but it's always been a bucket list item. From start to finish I felt I was in the best hands & had the best experience. Dan the owner along with his family run Dive-Masters- and now that I'm PADI certified, I not only can dive the open waters confidently & safely but I feel like I made some great friends! It was also such a comfort to know Dan's background was in the military as an MD & he takes safety seriously. He also knew right away that my husband had a busted ear drum on one of our dives and was able to help us get the medical attention we needed. Dive Masters is dedicated to getting you certified at your comfort level and very encouraging as you master each objective. By my last dive, I could tell I was ready for the open waters! We can't wait to head back & sign up for specialty certifications!

This is my chosen dive shop. They just had an ownership change because the original owner passed away, and it caused some administrative issues. The news owners and instructors are great. They have knowledge well beyond just the material that I was looking for in a shop. They are also more interested in the spirit of scuba diving than in the business of it. They still need to make a profit, though. But the prices are very fair. It feels more like a dive club than shop when I go. Anyway, do your research before you settle on a dive shop, but don't overlook this one. For newbies, a dive shop is more than just where you buy dive equipment. It will usually be a place that you use to stay up to date on scuba related things such as: new courses, dive opportunities near you, dive volunteer activities, etc. At the very least, it will be where you fill up your tanks and get your gear inspected. It shouldn't be a trivial decision, and you should look into the skill set of the people at the shops.

About
Dive Masters of San Antonio

Teaching SCUBA Since 1976 It all started out in November of 1976 in a strip center off of McCarty Road in San Antonio. And now... decades later, we're back at the same strip center on McCarty Road. We've had one philosophy since then: teaching safe, smart divers and having a great time. Our Teaching Cadre comes from a variety of backgrounds to include military and public service. We strive to make sure our divers have the skills they need to make safe dives and enjoy the entire experience along the way. Teaching through SSI since our start, we also certify divers through SDI, RAID and PADI, as well as have instructors on staff with the Divers Alert Network (DAN). Our instructors are also trained Adaptive/Classified dive instructors, working with many great groups to include the Dive Pirates Foundation. Join us for good memories and adventures as we take you underwater!
