I have gone here twice with a Groupon. One for 20 units of Xenon and one for 60 units of Dysport . When I booked the second visit, I actually didn't realize it was for the same place because I really disliked the doctor the first time. When I pulled up for the second time, I was bummed that it was the same place. The doctor is not a fan of patients with Groupon. He was very rude about it. I will definitely not make the same mistake again.

Be ready to wait 30-45 mins in the waiting room after checking in. Followed by another 15-20 mins after you get a room. Doctor is impersonal and doesnt engage in dialogue. As other have said, its a one-way conversation. I do not plan on visiting this office again.

The front desk receptionist ( girl in a pick outfit) and the staff/ nurses ( blond nurse with a trainee) were amazing. But the doctor is a different story. Dr. Reza Ghohestani wasnt informative on the medicine he prescribed me and I felt he was rushing/ not paying much attention to my 2nd concern. He prescribed me the strongest and most dangerous antibiotic after looking at my skin for 5 seconds. He didnt tell me the name of it, the dosage amount or anything else. The only way I found out the name was going to the online portal invitation sent via text. Something told me to not take the medication and get a 2nd opinion. I was right to do so. A 2nd dermatologist was actually baffled/ concerned that this intense medicine was prescribed to me. The side effects could have been brutal to my health when I didnt need it. After he told me he was prescribing me a antibiotic (I didnt have a shirt on, bra only at the top. Just had a little procedure done) he rushed out and left the door open. Anyone who walked by couldve saw me only in my bra. Thats how fast he walked out. I would honestly say he could take a few lessons from the nursing staff about being informative, listening without rushing, and also just being respectful towards a lady in the sense of closing the door when she is not fully clothed and closing the door so she can get dressed. Want to add: There werent any bad vibes, attitudes, or bad interactions to cause the behavior of the doctor.

This place is very dysfunctional. I went there 3 times during a 4 month period, there was new staff each time. Each visit felt like the first with filling out the same paperwork. The doctor was reasonably nice and seemed competent, but far from excellent. The billing for minor procedurs seemed random, over priced and was not explained in advance. At the end of it all, I just paid and wanted to be done with it. 15 months later, they send me a bill claiming my insurance did not cover a co-pay and not showing the amount I paid, which was way more than they claimed. I called to inquire about it. The receptionist, who souned like she might have been dealing with complaints all day, was rude and said someone would get back to me via email. My guess is that won't happen.

Business Response on Google Jan 15th, 2024
Thank you for your feedback. Dr. Reza Ghohestani, MD, PhD has an extensive background in dermatology, including his tenure as the former chief of the dermatology program at UT, over 20 years of experience in Academia and his role as co-editor of a prestigious international dermatology journal. His numerous national and international awards for original contributions to dermatology underscore his expertise. In dermatology, which relies heavily on image analysis for diagnosis, our staff conducts thorough pre-examinations before the doctor's evaluation. Dr. Ghohestani reviews this information, making efficient and accurate diagnoses. He may try to a have a brief look at the skin particularly in uncomfortable conditions like cold temperatures.Regarding the medication prescribed, Dr. Ghohestani typically prescribes Doxycycline or Minocycline for a limited period of time and a low dose usually one capsule every day or every other day for the anti-inflammatory effect of the medication, not the high dose (2-3 capsules a day) for the antibiotic effect, both well-studied antibiotics not considered "extremely dangerous., many patients with Acne for example take it at such low dose or even higher, if indicated. We seriously doubt any dermatologist would question it. In response to your concerns about feeling exposed, we take such matters seriously. Our camera footage from the hallway review indicates that doors were not left open post-examination. Upholding patient privacy and dignity is paramount, and we will reach out for further clarification. We understand patients may have multiple concerns. However, generally speaking, when a patient is accommodated in our busy schedule for an emergency visit, the focus is on addressing the major concern. We appreciate patients' understanding and gratitude in such situations. It's nearly impossible to comprehensively address hair, nails, and skin lesions in a single emergency visit without extending waiting times for other patients. We recommend scheduling a regular visit to discuss additional concerns thoroughly. We value your feedback, which is crucial for improving our patient care. Please feel free to contact our patient relations team for any further discussion or assistance. Ensuring your trust and well-being is our highest priority.
