Best Western Inn

Another person and myself tried to make 2 reservations at this place because we were coming to Lorain from Fort Knox as part of a military funeral honors detail. We both made reservations at around 2 PM on 5 April, with him making his reservation first. Whoever was working around that time said we were both good to go after we had both provided our names, phone numbers, and credit card information. It wasn't until we got to the hotel (around 9:20 PM) that we were told his reservation didn't exist, but mine was still good. He made his reservation 5 minutes before mine and somehow his magically disappeared and there was no record of it at all.

What I liked: The breakfast was great. The staff were very nice. The location was convenient. Once our jacuzzi got working, it was as advertised. The bed was comfortable. The pool was nice and quiet. What could be better: The fitness center is a tiny room with equipment that is on the verge of completely breaking down. Also, it seemed like cleaning hadn't been there for a while because there was a peeled banana that looked like it had been on the water fountain for days. I suppose I shouldn't be too hard on it because people aren't staying here to workout, but just a couple of updates could make the room much better. Perhaps that summarizes the hotel itself, which showing its age and could use with a renovation to bring it into the 21st century. I would recommend staying here if you're passing by for a night or two. The staff who work here do seem to care and were very helpful whenever we had questions or required assistance. However, don't picture anything glamourous with the pool or fitness center, as they are relics from the nineties. The hot breakfast was wonderful and that alone will probably make the stay worth it!
