REI

I went to this store to buy a luggage box for my car. Was ready to drop $1000, but could not get anyone to help out with a few questions. Waited 30 minutes and had 3 people say they'd call someone to help. As a follow up, the next day I went to the REI in Columbia MD, was approached by a sales associate as soon as I started looking at the boxes and the gentleman answered my questions, took the box out to my car and showed us how to put it on! We made sure the manager knew how happy we were with the whole experience.

I felt terrible here today, the cashier wasn't nice and she wasn't patient, so she made her work insignificant.

Manager forced me to wear a mask or refused to sell me a pair of shoes. Will never return. Terrible experience.

Pulling out of REI Rockville now. I will be contacting Corporate on Tues before uploading video of encounter with Chris (manager here). He compares my shoes with his after telling me he purchased his shoes there and they had wear holes within 3 mos.( His shoes have significant wear, tread bare). This man should be in tire sales because he talks in circles. After listening to our exchange, I doubt youll want to purchase anything from a store sharing his philosophy. Details with video coming soon. I hope corporate can hear the audio of our exchange over and security systems that they have. Also when he found out I was recording our exchange, he grew super flustered and said it was illegal as he stormed off, I explained in Maryland its fully legal in public. He thought he needed to provide consent. I was going to explain the explanation of privacy not applicable on a sales floor but he was gone. Chris- if you do things honestly and honorable, you wont have to worry about being recorded.
