Worst apartment complex in NOVA. The least they could do when taking you on a tour of the property is let you know that you can control the temperature of your apartment. Its 87 degree in my apartment and they said they "have to turn on the loops".. I have put in multiple requests for this to be done and no one has come to help. The people working in the office could care less.

Paying well over 2k a month for a Luxury apartment that doesnt allow you to control your air conditioning whenever you want is ridiculous. This was never discussed when touring the property or when signing my lease, nor is this stipulation anywhere in the lease documents. I never would have chosen to move here had I known this. That past few days my apartment has been between 85-90 degrees. The leasing office recommended that I go buy fans until they can switch the air conditioning back on. I have fans, and the windows open this is just insane. Also, maintenance is not the greatest, it will take weeks for a request to get looked at or they just close it.

While my husband and I love the space and the location, I don't understand why it has taken over 3 months for maintenance to address something in our unit. In January, the fan in the bathroom leaked water all over the wall. There is visible water damage on the wall. My husband called Acadia the day of the leak and he was told that someone would come the same day to check it out. No one did. Then we were told that we needed to be home because the leak was in the master bath and we have a dog home. My husband is a teacher and told the office that he was going to be home on February 19th. They said someone would come. No one ever did. My husband then had a day off on March 5th and was told that someone would come to our unit. No one did. THEN my husband went to the office or called the office EVERY DAY DURING HIS SPRING BREAK (3/25 - 4/2) and was told that someone was coming, but no one ever came. My husband then went to the office yesterday and told them that he had the day off on 4/10 and asked if someone could come. They said yes, but it is now 6pm and no one has come to our unit. This is in addition to the multiple emails that he has sent them. We've never lived at a place where we have to constantly call or visit the office and maintenance never comes.

Management doesn't communicate or invest in maintenance of this complex. Basic maintenance problems take months to get resolved and that's only if you stop by the office every day to ask about it. Otherwise it will get closed. Large issues like the fire alarms are ignored. They go off so much here I'm surprised the fire department even shows up anymore. People ignore it and don't leave their apartments. If there is ever a real fire it will be tragic.

UPDATE *4/3/2024* 11:53AM- fire alarm is going off again. Though I keep seeing people in the hallways that look like they are working throughout here so they may be working on the alarm issue, but I do not know. The apartment front office has not sent out any communication to the building about if they are repairing this issue or not. I am starting to think I may have some hearing loss from the loud alarms going off. My ears won't stop ringing. I will say they finally answered my ticket about mold remediation in the bathrooms at least. UPDATE *4/1/2024* 2:02PM- fire alarm is going off again. It is becoming increasingly difficult to take client and colleagues' calls for work. It is also starting to injure my hearing for I now hear constant ringing long after these alarms go off. UPDATE *4/1/2024* 12:03PM- Alarm went off again. There seems to be a correlation with the rain for every time we get a good amount of rain the alarm goes off. I went to the front office to talk about the alarm last week on the 28th and they did not know why this was happening. I did get an email from the maintenance manager, Perry, on Friday stating they are working to replace the system and they are in the process of approving the project higher up in the company. He also said they plan on alerting the people of the building as well once the system is replaced. I appreciate the email a lot, but I told him we, as in all of the tenants, need more communication than that for this has been an issue for years and that we just need to know that the front office is not ignoring the problem. Also he spoke about the mold problem and asked to come address the issue. I suggested a time and date and waiting for their reply. UPDATE *3/28/2024* 7:28AM- Alarm went off once again. Firefighters do not know why this is happening and the front office has to email us all to let us know what the hell is happening. This is the third time this year alone. UPDATE *3/24/2024* 3:18AM- Still having the whole building alarm go off, second time in less than a month. The front office never sends out notices as to why this is constantly happening so it feel like they never fixed the issue and lied to us about it. Whenever it rains the alarm goes off at around 3am and we are forced to vacate, in the rain, sleep deprived. This has to be on the verge of torture for this to be continuing. Also, another issue to add is their maintenance time to get stuff fixed has worsened. It's been about a month and my MOLD infestation still has not been addressed. The ticket is still open in my que and no one has even looked at the issue. My neighbor was without a fridge for a month as well when hers died. DO NOT LIVE HERE if you can help it. UPDATE *1/1/2022*- The apartment staff stated the alarm was fixed a month ago. We did not have any alarms go off this month and I was hoping the issue was fixed, but that hope was lost on the 1st of the year. They obviously did not correct the issue and do not care for the safety of their residents. They need to actually replace the system instead of putting band-aids over everything. I still say this apartment is not worth risking your life and sanity since they do not care. ORIGINAL*- Absolutely the worst apartment complex management system I have ever had the misfortune to work with. I have had maintenance tickets ignored, AC breaking, water heater barely works, toilets leaking, fire sprinkler system leaking, and to top it off the building wide fire alarm has gone off almost 20 times in the past 8 months for no reason and all times of the day or night. It's so bad that the fire marshal has had to come out multiple times to disconnect the alarm's power. The management staff is either not forth coming with the reasons why the alarms go off or why maintenance doesn't fix things or they are rude and refuse to talk to people about how they are fixing the problem. DO NOT RENT THESE APARTMENTS. It is not worth your sanity.
