I bought a charger for my phone and it didn't work. I brought it back and was offered a phone cleaning so I agreed. I was asked if I wanted to use the charging cable or did I still want to return. I said I would give it a try as it worked in the store, but I asked if I could still return it later and what is the timeframe?  ANY TIME was what I was told. The charger worked for very short time, stopped working, and I decided to return again knowing my safety net was to return "Any Time."   I was told the statute of limitations was exceeded and so I asked why I was told I could return any time?  No, they wouldn't  say that and they were sorry for the miscommunication.  And everyone knows the statute. Well no, apparently everyone doesn't know. And if you have a legit business you make an exception to such statutes if the customer is given false information. It's a part of doing business and being right with your customers and keeping them happy. But instead a waste of my time, money, and energy.
