Crowne Plaza Cleveland at Playhouse Square, an IHG Hotel

In response to hotel's reply: YOU WERE MADE AWARE! Original review: We are disappointed in our stay at Crowne Plaza. Upon entering the hotel, the lobby had a sour odor. Our greeting upon check-in was very business-like but not real friendly. The room was clean. We had no "do not disturb" hang tag, no comforter or bedspread, and the coffeemaker didn't work. All were kindly brought to us. When we attempted to use the room phone, the "guest services", "room services", etc buttons didn't work. We had to dial the operator. There was no hotel information materials in the room, so we checked Google for the hotel restaurant's menu. We called and placed an order. In the background, we heard a great deal of yelling. We later learned a homeless man had somehow gotten in the kitchen area. Approximately 15 minutes later, a man knocked on the door with a menu explaining that the selections we made weren't on the menu. So, we reordered. End of Day 1. Day 2 - toilet wouldn't fill. Food & drinks: Breakfast is not included. Only offering is breakfast buffet for $18 which was not great. Same as any other hotel that's usually included.

We had a small issue with our room upon check in. The staff ( Tony in particular) was very accommodating. They resolved the issue quickly and showed a level of hospitality that is not common. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends!!!
