I have mixed feelings. There are a few that work here that are very pleasant and helpful. Then you have the bad eggs. Mostly in the gun department. Not very knowledgeable when it comes to what they are selling. Honestly, asct like you are wasting their time just talking to them/him. Very rude individual who obviously doesn't want to work retail. Still yet. They sell good products at competitive prices. The good people and the products definitely outweigh the bad eggs. "Now to edit this post from 3 stars and everything I said to. Both the academy and the 555 N Chelton Rd, Colorado Springs, and CO 80909 stores need almost a complete revamp of the majority of their staff. The way customers are treated at both of these stores is absolutely deplorable! Prices and a few good eggs do not make up for the way the majority of the staff treat people. I am a small fry in a big pond, but I have spent well over $2k at their stores in the last 2 months, and every time I go there, I keep telling myself never again. Well, after this last experience, I may have to hold myself to that. There is one guy in each stores gun department that needs to never work any kind of customer service. I can't stress enough if you decide to go to either of these stores. Be ready to not ask questions and not be interested in buying anything because almost no one wants to help you!!!

Don't bother going here unless you want them to illegally hold your weapon for 4 days instead of 3 in Colorado, according to their store policy. They admit and do hold forearms beyond the required time "to avoid mistakenly selling a firearm early". They apparently are ok with being open for lawsuit pursuant to illegal seizures. This doesn't say much for their faith in their workers. Also, the middle aged manager was extremely rude. When I requested a manager, instead of introducing himself, he just looked at me and said "hi....no!" to which I inquired "No, what?" and he replied with "You don't get your firearm". He recognized it should be mine and insisted that it be held longer than what is required by the state. I will not buy another thing from this store and am considering returning my $650 item for a refund since their manager wasnt trained in customer service, or didn't care to show any. I'm there to pay money, not be mistreated by an angry worker who can't control his behavior while at work. When asked who I spoke to, I was told "it was either Michael or Tom" (it turns out that I was speaking with Tom, Michael was great) I was there today between 3:51 and 4:07pm.

Customers aleays right huh. Worst experiences ever, so disappointing when you go somewhere trying to buy something worth hundreds or dollars and the employees even don't care enough to do there job to try and make a sale or even help you out. I got told I was wrong about them having a firearm that was in there sale paper, then when he found it told me and my friend who also wanted to buy one he couldn't sell it and that he could put ours name on it and call us the next day. Neither my friend or I received a call about it, my friend said he called and the store hung up on him twice and couldn't even get ahold of the correct department. Then after all that we were looking at compound bow stuff and tried asking a question and the employee told us an I quote "I don't know sounds like a good science experiment for you" then turned around and walked away. I will never go back there and make sure I refer everyone I know to do the same.
