Who Has The Worst Board of Directors in North America?

Hewlett-Packard's board of directors topped its counterpart at Bank of America to win the title of Worst Board of Directors for 2012.

• Yahoo's board made a strong early run, but its selection of Marissa Mayer as CEO seemed to have calmed the troops.
• RIMM contended, but just as with its products, no one seemed to care much.
• Chesapeake Energy faded from the pack at the gate. Apparently, it's not a company that matters much.

HP's missteps -- or rather, its self-inflicted IEDs -- of the past two years made its board a clear winner. Nobody likes banks, especially the big ones, but HP's board overcame that handicap with flying colors, most of them red.
