Candlewood Suites VANCOUVER-CAMAS

Room: (double bed suite) very clean, bright, nice kitchen (plus: there was a stove top!) and comfortable bed and pillow. Service: (at check-in) check in time as stated on website is 3pm. We arrived early but called to let front staff know (hoping we could check in early) in case room was ready. Advised it would be ready at check in time. We later arrived at 3:37pm and was told that our room wouldn’t be ready for another hour. Here’s where it became a very poor experience. We weren’t greeted. There was no apology for the wait. Staff didn’t offer any solution or explanation. From a customers perspective there were 10 cars outside (not busy). I asked if we could get a room that is equivalent to what we have that was ready and they handed us a card and never said sorry or thank you. It would have been a 5 star if the hotel had any hospitality. Maybe a more service oriented front desk personnel?

Only one member of the staff was wearing a mask, in spite of mandates and signs saying they’re required. Staff did not ask guests to wear masks. Felt assured they would follow covid safety protocols based on their website, but this was not the case. Huge disappointment.

Wonderful hotel! Staff is very kind and accommodating. Beds are super comfortable. Full kitchen is nice and plenty of options. Fridge runs wonderfully. Great work area and plenty of connections and room to spread out if you need to.
