Back in the day (25 yrs ago) Minervas was very good. Always a go to for excellent Italian take out. Now it is not even mediocre. Got an Italian sub last night that was so bad I didn't eat half of it. Definitely won't go back.

Decent food for a local pizza place, one of the better options in the area. Would recommend the grille items over their pizza however.

I'm not a picky eater. As long as the food is hot and the way I asked for it I am content. I had an urge for a good burger one evening but all I had at home was a package of cheap frozen patties I had picked up in a moment of laziness. I made one on the grill but after a single bite I threw it and the rest of the pack away because they were so terrible. At that point I was hungry and having a serious urge for a GOOD burger but I was tired and I didn't want to go too far to get one. I live 3 minutes from Minervas but as I do not care for their pizza I haven't been there in years until the other night. Minerva's menu says "Gourmet burgers" so I thought I'd give them a try. I waited 30 minutes in their outdated uncomfortable booths that are patched up with different colored duct tape on the holes and tears in the cushions for my "gourmet burger". When my food was finally ready I sat down at my booth and dug in. I was bummed at what I was handed. It was a paper thin, tasteless dry hockey puck tossed on an untoasted bun. I could swear that they are using the same nasty frozen patties I had just thrown in the trash at home, full of gristle and fat. I asked for medium well...I got well done++ with pieces of burnt whatever stuck to the patty from the grill. It was for sure a frozen cookie cutter patty. Even the fries were awful. They were the typical cheap crappy ones you find in the frozen aisle and pay $1.99 for a 5lb bag. No taste, no potatoes, not even hot. I should have gone to McDonalds. It would have been faster cheaper and much better, and that is sad to say considering Minerva considers their burgers "gourmet". Ha yeah, they are wicked gourmet. Not. I have yet to talk to a townie that likes their pizza or food. I'm not sure how they even stay in business. Most likely because they one door down from the liquor store which is always busy. So if you have time to waste, money to burn and have had your taste buds removed, you'll probably love Minervas.
