Monsanto Second Quarter Sales Go Up

Monsanto Co is a Saint Louis based company that is known for agricultural biotechnology since 1901 has come up their financial records and the company has revealed that their net income has gone up in the second quarter. The company revealed that the net income of the company was $1.2 billion on net sales of $4.7 billion. This means that the net income of the company was 19% up then what it was earlier in the previous year. The company said that they are glad to see the company making good progress.

The company also said that their quarterly sales have gone up as well. It was revealed that their quarterly net sales are up by 14.9%. The quarterly net sales of the company in the year 2011 was $4.1 billion but now it has gone up for sure. The company said that the reason behind their success and improvement in net sales is because they have received global gains in corn and they also had a strong selling season throughout the United States. Monsanto said that they had a good season selling seeds where they managed to get $503 million for the quarter.

Hugh Grant, President and CEO of Monsanto Co said that it was only because the company had a strong selling season in the United States that they were able to surpass the sales numbers and they targeted high teens as their customers.
