When the Fortune 500 list was out many of the companies were expecting their states to come up with the most number of companies, but Pittsburgh has managed to pull it off once again. The city has come up with 23 companies that have been in the list of Fortune 500 and that shows that the city is really thinking about serious business. The United States Steel Corp has been among the best companies in Pittsburgh as per the information available. Interestingly, the company ranked 140 on the list just a year ago and it managed to move up the ladder by eight spots.

There are many other companies that have made it into the list like Comcast Corp that is right behind the United States Steel Corp when it comes to companies in Pittsburgh. The US Steel Corp was number five on the list, while Comcast Corp was 49 on the list. PNC Financial Services Group went down to rank 165. PPG Industries Inc ranked 180 on the list, while H.J. Heinz ranked 244 on the list. There are other companies like Mylan Inc, Wesco International, Consol Energy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Allegheny Technologies Inc were also in the Fortune 500 list.
