Pittsburg, Pennsylvania is situated on the banks of the Ohio, Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers. There are 446 bridges and 151 high-rise buildings creating the skyline. The city’s history goes back to 1669, when a trader named LaSalle discovered the area. In 1758, British General Forbes ordered a fort built where a French fort stood. The new fort was named after William Pitt the Elder, the British Secretary of State. The settlement hat had been built between the two rivers was renamed Pittsborough by Forbes.

At the city center is the Golden Triangle, Downtown, the main business district with its skyscrapers, clubs, entertainment and restaurant venues. Many know that Pittsburgh is home of the H.J. Heinz Co.. This philanthropic family has built schools and cultural edifices to advance the education and career opportunities of its citizens. Among the most famous of these buildings is Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts, home to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
