Those in the market for a high-end car may not have to look any further than the new McLaren Automotive dealership that opened up in Philadelphia on Wednesday. These sports cars make a significant statement and could inject more fluidity into the local economy.

Prior to the opening of this location, McLaren only had seven dealerships in the entire United States. They are located in Dallas, TX; Beverly Hills, CA; Newport Beach, CA; San Francisco, CA; Greenwich, CT; Chicago, IL; and Tampa, FL.
The newest location is situated at 1631 West Chester Pike in West Chester.
McLaren is known for its six-figure sports cars. They're definitely not for the average person in the market for a vehicle, but the dealership could bring in people with an interest in specialty cars. For those who are curious, Auto Week indicates that a base level 2012 McLaren MP4-12C will set you back $231,400.
Founded in 1963 by Bruce McLaren, the company has put together several racing teams that won many Formula One races. Off the racetrack, their vehicles are known for being made from lightweight aluminum and offering engines with up to 592 horsepower. High performance is the name of the game.
Even if these cars are out of your price range, it's a good sign for the Philadelphia area that this dealership is moving in. An up tick in the economy means better prospects for everyone. One can only hope that this trend continues.
