Miami city saw a good amount of protest outside the Southeast Financial Center where many workers decide to protest against the Jantrex Building Services. The workers have claimed that the company has not paid them with the overtime wages. All the workers that were on the street today said that they clean the offices of Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, Merrill Lynch and even Goldman Sachs in the downtown Miami high rise building. According to the sources, two of the Jantrex Building Services workers were not provided with their overtime wages for many months now and the number has increased to thousands of dollars. So far there are only two workers that claim this but they said that there are many others who are going through the same situation.
As per the information provided by Service Employees International Union there are many other workers that claim that they have not been paid well by Jantrex. The protest also included city of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado. SEIU Florida Director, Erick Brakken said that it is very sad to see that Jantrex Building Services have not paid their dues to the workers who work hard to make sure that all the multi-million offices are well kept and clean. He said that the company is exploiting the position of the workers and trying to commit wage theft crime.
